and they figure out you did and ban you from buying from them. Not really worth it.

I agree with that. I've just never heard of something like this. I think it's pretty neat. Do they recommend any specifics?

To smash it? It's been awhile but for me it was basically destroy it in safe manner and send them pictures to prove you did. If you did not they will charge you for replacement part in x number of days. I've seen a few videos on here of people doing it.

It's not that unusual in business that do replacement parts. Even eBay has a policy that requires destruction of some items (anything deemed counterfeit that the buyer files a complaint for and wins is required destroyed and not returned). It's really not an unusual policy. And yes, it's possible to fake it. It does happen. However, if sideshow suspects or someone is found out them they can either ban the person from buying, or tell them they will no longer offer replacements only full returns. They have been at this a fairly long time and are pretty practiced with it. It's really not worth doing it for a few bucks worth of stuff

For everybody here's a question for you. My mark 45 arrived just minutes ago by far the best hot toys Iron Man I have in my collection. But I just noticed why is my Center Arc Reactor plastic frosted white where you can't see the internal detail and all the pictures I see posted and all the videos I've seen reviewing it show it clear so you can see the internals of the arc reactor. Mine is basically a opaque frosted white piece of plastic in the center of his chest. WTF

Did you get it from sideshow? If so contact them and try and get a replacement. They are very good about fixing honest defects. The piece you have to exchange is a removable chest piece should be an easy exchange I would think.

Just checked and the battle damaged chest plate has the same frosted glass to it.
So I wonder if this was an earlier release or a later change cuz I can't imagine both pieces are wrong..... right???
Bought on Amazon....3rd party seller

I'm not sure through Amazon. If the seller is a fulfilled seller on Amazon you might be able to get it exchanged.

Really weird...

You need to start collecting people's pics of their clear glass to help prove your point to Amazon.

Here is a random shot in my spare room reactor is clear

If you're interested in a trade for both clear ones, PM me.

Now I kind of wish they had included two sets of chest pieces.. One clear set and one white set. I guess a little strip of paper would be a cheaper alternative.

Agreed! I like the opaque white. Actually a few layers of matte tape will work.

Yeah. I have small strips of paper under the masks of my VII and XLII. tape would probably work better because it would stay in place when removing the masks.. But I'd be a little worried about the annoying residue left behind. I never even thought to put a slip of paper into the chests.

Anyways.. I think my most favorite under mentioned aspect of this figure has got to be the elbows. I really love the way they look and function. When they're not posed they look nice and clean, but once they're extended they have a really fantastic/unexpected range of motion.
