I am really happy that did not happen :lol though I feel like him taking her was remarkably pointless :dunno

Well if Ultron wants to kill the team, I see no reason why he did not kill her, its one less to worry about. If he is kidnapping her there has got to be a sinister motive behind it, killing her would been pretty good way to go into the final third of the movie with one avenger down, and gives the audience the dread that Ultron really is a real threat. If he did kill her, damn I think it would have created a pretty dreaded atmosphere thinking, who could die next?

No I get your point and yes it would have been great for the character and overall story but personally as a BW I am very happy that did not happen!

Pretty much this :lecture Someone get this guy a rep STAT!!! :lol although I don't want BW to die :(

Ultron really should have killed someone with his hands. Anyway, I think Marvel hears the criticism about people not dying and their repetitive formula.

The movies are very hit or miss. The biggest problem is that the directors are essentially neutered and there's no real room for taking risks.

Out of the 11 I've seen, only four were really good. The rest were formulaic and stepping stones onto other films.

The Winter Soldier I feel was their best film, with the first Avengers coming in at a close second. Then I'd give a tie for 3rd place to both Iron Man (2008) and GOTG.

Everything else I found very uninspired and forgettable.

But I don't want the main characters to die :(

Each to their own but the MCU as a package fo far has been immense! I am now introducing my daughter to it (we are two films in) and whilst IM2 is next and the thought of watching it again feels a bit of a chore, I know that once that music kicks in and Stark enters the expo, I'll be hooked again.

No love for Thor? Thought the first one was amazing and top 5 MCU for sure.

I enjoyed it but it felt safe.

I think Straczynski's original draft was far superior to anything Branagh filmed. That was the draft Vaughn wanted to shoot. When they "lightened" it up he walked and we got Branagh's film.

Well it is never going to be Game Of Thrones, where main characters are in danger and will die. Where the creators will not keep characters alive, for the sake of the characters.

I saw nothing in the first avengers movie, the new one actually fixes the problems assembled had. A better villain, a much more rounded story that had consequences for the team, and we see more development from the avengers team. Ultron does where Loki failed, bring despair to the team and the almost breaking up of the team, HULK has gone into exile, Thor has gone home and Tony has got doubts about help leading the team, and its leading up to what will happen in Civil War. So while Ultron did not kill enough of the main team, he has done major damage keeping the avengers together, and there is still bitterness from the other members in what Tony and Bruce have done when creating Ultron. When Ultron says I going to tear them apart, he has actually done that, taking out 2 major players of that team in HULK and Thor, and how they feel towards Tony is going to be interesting which I hope they build up more in future films

That would have absolutely RUINED the film for me.

"Oh, now we can kill off Natasha to create drama since we have another female team member in Scarlet Witch. One female at a time, you know!". That's what killing Natasha would've come across like. Natasha's part in AOU had some issues to begin with - leading up to killing her would've been the worst thing they could've done.

She's one of my favorite characters.

I'm sick to death of all the calls for character death, to be honest. I love these characters and they're why I love this universe, so I don't want too many of them killed off just for shock value or to create drama when there are other ways to do that. I'm so, so, so glad they haven't killed a bunch of their characters. It keeps me enjoying the MCU.

Marvel's been mostly hits for me.

Scarlet Witch did most of that. Ultron even says he and Piotr can hurt them, but she can tear them apart. And she did.

Avengers was a set up film - building up the team. That's not the movie to bring in despair and darkness and conflict that will separate them and carry over into the next film. And I love the fun and joy of the Avengers and wouldn't change that for anything.
