I'm sure the FANBOY posts will follow this post, but I totally disagree. They aren't forcing us to do a thing. They aren't stealing from us. They don't have the authority to take money out of our bank accounts without our permission.

They are a business. They are in it to make money. They aren't our friends or pals. We aren't entitled to anything but what we choose to pay for. We either buy their products, which is a show of support, or we don't. CLEARLY, enough people around the world, support HT enough to stay in business. I hate their lack of communications. But they make some damn good collectibles. And I am in until I am priced out.

:exactly: I couldn't agree with you more...Funny how quick people forget :goodpost:

My main concern on the Mark XLII is that given how HT operates, they will make the
"Pepper HS"
an exclusive item, which will piss me off and a lot of others as well, i presume.

This wouldn't surprise me. With all of small exclusive accessories added to toys such as Catwoman and Joker.... This is a strong possibility.

As for being 40% metal, again these sound very similar to the Takara MP Transformers series.

I don't really want to search through those threads :lol Can somebody please tell me what the added extra's were for those? :D

the joker comes with the detonator and grumpy clown mask, as for catwoman she comes with the batman cowl i think

Oh those. Thanks. I thought it was extra accessories added later that I didn't know about. I think I misunderstood the post :D

At the moment.

I agree with everything else u stated. And further, when we're all on the same page about being priced out.. When that day finally comes because this "make all the money we can even at the expense of customer satisfaction" trend is going to continue...Rip HT

Have to agree. Buy or don't buy. I'm not sure it's part of some nefarious plan to "milk" everyone, I just think it's a crap decision.

It's stupidly heavy. The paint chips. It'll look "soft", ie you won't get the nice sweet crisp thin edges you can with plastic, just because of what it is.

Just on eBay.

Queuing up to place order for HT 1/6 Iron Patriot
Previously there was a long queue around 旺角西洋菜南街 that caused a commotion; people wasn’t queuing up for milk powders nor concert tickets, they were queuing up for [Gold] (in Chinese diecast direct translate as combination gold). This isn’t 999 pure gold; it was Hot Toys first figure that made of die cast - Iron Patriot. It consists of 40% die cast that comes with new pose ability design. For those who are Iron Man fan and weren’t able to participate in the queuing event, are you prepared to pay more once it’s released?
Since the first Iron Man movie till the 3rd installation, Hong Kong based HT no doubt has contributed much to sustain Iron Man’s popularity. Despite HT has produced more than 20 types of Iron Man figures, from MK I to MK VII, busts and now even Power Pose Series, fans are still willing to go for the new releases, surprised? That is all because each releases the manufacturer will instill new gimmicks that collectors couldn’t resist nor refuse. According to HT: Collectors have always been complaining that Iron Man figures from HT aren’t solid or heavy enough; so when HT received the green light to manufacture Iron Man 3 figures, we wanted to implement new design. After many research and development, we came out with this new series MMS Diecast Series, by using diecast material yet not compromising its pose ability.
Say good bye to ‘pink panties’
In order to make it [Iron], part of the components need to be compromised; there can’t be too many details when using die cast, for example helmet will be made of plastics. Die cast part will be used on arms and legs. The figure will be consist of 40% die cast hence it will weight around 1.5 kg; it will be one of the heavy weight figure. On the other hand, the usual ‘panty’ PVC part will be replaced by ABS, the ‘pink panties’ issue will be resolved.
The joint part will be even more realistic.
Would there be a problem since it is much heavier now? HT has modified part of the joints with ratchet mechanism, hence improvising the pose ability on diecast material. There more development on other parts: the chest and abdominal are comprised of 3 parts, allowing more movement; elbow consists of 3 joints, hence it could bend more than 90 degrees, all these development are to achieve more human realism. Whilst on head sculpt, despite Don Cheadle has approved it, JC. Hong is yet to be satisfied hence it is still under some modifications. Iron Man fans have to be more patient before the final head sculpt is being released.

:goodpost: That's my biggest gripe about this whole die-cast thing.

"ratchet mechanism" whhyyyy! :thud:

Another drawback of the increased weight. Without ratchet type joints, those nice smooth ultra poseable joints will slowly, over time, get looser, and your nice, pristine IP takes a header off the top of the speaker/shelf you've put him on. Also, with the increased weight, if/when he does take that header, bigger chance of breaking a plastic part now as well.

Die cast is for chumps. I know some of you think it's totally awesome, but it really is a rather pointless gimmick on collectibles like this, and there are a lot of compromises that will be getting made to accomodate it, and I reckon some of you are going to be damned disappointed with the final result.

JC Hong sounds like the perfect employee/manager to have in this business...perfectionist & not easily satisfied!

Yet for intensive wait is too slow. Acheive get? Only when offhand depicted!

This reminds me of how much i hate all the "oh my poor wallet", "HT just ransacked my wallet" and other overused 'wallet' phrases. :slap :lol

With the armour head supposedly being plastic, it's pretty much brought my excitement level lower. A really good non armoured Cheadle sculpt might bring it up again.
