Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Avengers: AOU - Hulkbuster

That's cool, I can see how you'd think they were toes now..., glad we cleared that one up. lol ;)

Regardless I love this thing. I'm like Gollum sitting here salivating. PRECIOUS!!!
When I get it, it is going between my Mark III and Mark VII Legendary scale Maquettes and My 1/4 Scale ones will get moved somewhere else.

Got any pictures of those? I'd like to see them. :) & I'm looking forward to adding the Hulkbuster to my collection too, just no idea where it'll go at the moment because of the size?!?

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Avengers: AOU - Hulkbuster

oh im sure it will have articulated fingers. I was just mentioning that Iron Monger with all those moving parts that needed to be put together seems a labor intensive figure. This one The forearms looks like one solid piece same with the body or its other major parts. I think that will keep the cost down quite a bit. Let me put it this way; It's very big and it's got lotsa lights, seems to be it's "wow"factor.

I guess we'll just have to wait & see what the release information wise about it when it goes up for preorder..., I don't really pose my figures much to be honest so a lack of articulation doesn't bother me..., I do find all of the moveable parts interesting though & like to have a play when I first get a figure but after that, they go into my display for viewing rather than tinkering with. :)

Showed this to my gf a little while ago. she got big smile on her face and said "oh my god, that is awesome, buy it!" I might have to buy a ring along with buying this because I am so keeping her :lol

I'll post some in a few days. My Mark V!! broke when I tried to assemble the legs with the base. Sideshow graciously replaced it and the new one arrived last Wednesday. I won't unpack it until I have finished the light up base I'm building to match the one I made for the Mark III. It's about 60% complete and with luck I'll have it finished this coming Wednesday.

If she still says that after you show her the price tag - put a ring on it.

I posted some pictures here a few weeks ago but now I have two Iron Man movie posters behind the Mark III. It looks really good withe the framed posters. https://www.sideshowcollectors.com/...851-ironman-mark-vii-legendary-scale-260.html

Scan down the page as there are more pictures.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Avengers: AOU - Hulkbuster

I suspect there will be a 2-3 minute battle between Hulk and HB, and that will be all that we see of it in the movie.

Then maybe we'll see Ultron tear it to pieces. Chew on that. ;)

My money is that Hulkbuster will get trashed by the Hulk during the fight even if Iron Man wins. More likely, there will not be one clear victor since movie execs like battles that go back and forth without making one character look clearly weaker than the next. Thor vs Hulk in Avengers is a good example of that.

Very nice, thanks for showing me them & for posting that link too. :) The biggest Iron Man figure, is that 1:2 scale? I've been pondering whether or not to invest in getting the mark VII legendary scale figure but the cheapest I've found it for is £1,400.00 & that's just a painful amount of money. lol ;)

You can get 1/1 Iron Man figures but that's too big imo (and $8,000 to over $9,000)and I wouldn't have any room for it. I saw a full sized Mark III in person and thought the quality was sketchy at best. Not sure how good the quality of the 1/1 Iron Patriot and Iron Man Mark XLII is.

I'm dying to get the other riser finished so I can display the Mark VII. Hopefully we aren't so busy at work that I can't finish it by Christmas eve. The Led's and power supply will get installed in it tomorrow for sure. I have to cover it in black laminate, make an aluminum band for the base, finish polishing the plexi and finesse a few more things. So perhaps 6-8 hours more work.

Be sure to take a picture of it when it's all done, sounds great..., hope all goes well & you get the time to do it (fingers crossed). :) I've not seen any 1:1 scale statues as yet, seen a few 1:1 scale busts though & they were very nice. Have you seen the 1:4 scale statues Gentle Giant are releasing? There's just 3 so far but they all look pretty good. :)

I haven't seen the gentle giant statues but I got my 1/1 Mark VII bust about a month ago. I waited 2 years two months for that to arrive and as nice as it is it's kind of meh. The Mark XLII looks way better imo and was only $100 more. If I had thought about it I should seen if Comics Infinity where I bought it from would have let me cancel and switch to the 42.

My buddy who runs CBS digital has the mark 42 (XLII) on order and it does look pretty sweet. I'll see how they sell, because in a few months I'll have $300-400 Sideshow rewards points saved up, so I wouldn't have to pay full price. Still I might save those for the Hulkbuster as that thing is calling to me bad lol!

Sometimes I get things that I've really been looking forward to getting & the 'meh' feeling is there..., I find if I receive several things together & open the most impressive item first, everything else afterwards is a let down (no matter how good it really is), I try to judge what I'll like best now & open that item up last, that way there's a build up of good vibes rather than wow followed by meh. lol ;)

Sounds like a good plan. I know from opening the Mark VII Legendary scale that broke that it is a lovely piece. Supposedly the folks at Sideshow personally inspected the replacement, so hopefully it's A-OK. I'll find out Wednesday. I have a few things scheduled to arrive in January, Batman 89 1/4 scale, HT's Iron Man Mark XXXVIII Igor, and hopefully Iron Patriot 1/4 scale. It'll be like Christmas all over again.:)

BTW if IGOR arrives in January (they keep moving the date) that'll be 15-16 months since I ordered it. Going by that time frame, I don't see the Hulkbuster being shipped until early 2016.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Avengers: AOU - Hulkbuster

The 1/6 HT's Mark XLIII was available for pre-order about two days after pictures were shown online, so hopefully in a few days we'll have the price for the Hulkbuster. I wish they would hurry up so I can order it. As they say: "SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!"

Great display and collection. And I love the home. Great use of wood. I'm a big fan of custom and unique woodwork.
