Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Avengers: AOU - Hulkbuster

It all depends on how memorable the film is. I mean who remembers spiderman 2 released in 2004 or wants figures from it with the newer releases of amazing spider man.

Lots of people. You obviously remember it. Heck even the year. Kinda making my point. Lol

What do people do with their Tumblers and 89 Batmobile's? They put their figures in them right?
Well, in both those cases one would still be able to actually see the figure through the windshield. While I'm sure some collectors do display their Batman fig inside the vehicle, I can't recall seeing any collection photos where that's the case. Seems like most people will display Batman standing beside the vehicle.

In Hulkbuster's case it would be truly pointless to engineer the suit to articulate with a smaller figure within it (I'm not even sure it's possible). Having a Mark XLIII bust along the lines of the Stane headsculpt used for Iron Monger really is the only thing that makes sense, for anyone that wants to display it with HB's helmet open and XLIII looking out.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Avengers: AOU - Hulkbuster

I'm steadfastly against the figure-in-a-figure concept. Not only because of design and engineering complexities, which mean a more expensive figure, but also due to concerns about QC and paint rub, paint chipping, plastic rubbing up against plastic, etc. Too many butt-clenching moments for me. No es bueno. Save it for Marvel Select.

A guy in a red suit showed up at my house last night and I must say the lights that accompanied him almost blinded me;-) My replacement Mark VII finally staged.I finished the light up riser this morning! Actually one more element to make and add in the New year but it's finished for now.

Okay it did more pictures in coming! One close up is prior to me epoxying the studs for the fasteners to replace the Phillips head screws that were just placeholders when I was installing the Aluminum bands.

this is cool and all, but what does it have to do with Hulkbuster ? :lol

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Avengers: AOU - Hulkbuster

I think a cut away reveal of a MkXLIII bust is probably the best to hope for... According to the laws of CGI movie portrayal it is possible that there would be no way to actually build Hulkbuster with a removable suit in it without making it even bigger..

of course it is, anything more would just be dumb... people think theyd actually slide their diecast 43 in and out of a HB? even if they could how stupid would that be? paint would just fall off the thing... and it wouldnt be able to move or anything. Plus who would spend $345 on a figure just to stuff it inside another one ..? retarded

Someone on this thread asked to see it when it was finished. It's finished so I posted the pictures for that poster. If you don't want to look at them then maybe move to the next post, as I'd hate to put undue strain on your eyeballs. I posted these in the Mark VII LS thread as well, and rather than just link to it in this thread I opted to copy and paste that post. Sorry if I offended you.:wink1:

relax sallie, maybe quote them then... adds context (like my laughing smiley)

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Avengers: AOU - Hulkbuster

I just want Hulkbuster, preordered a mark 43 so that's covered..., I personally wouldn't want to be seeing the mark 43 in the suit, no need for it really (well not for me anyway).

My bad I meant add a smiley at the end of mine as well! I can see where you thought I was being pissy. I was trying to be tongue in cheek Sorry.:)

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Avengers: AOU - Hulkbuster

I wonder if during Sideshow's 12 days of Christmas, we'll see the Pre-order for the Hulkbuster?

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS - Avengers: AOU - Hulkbuster

I think it's too soon. I'd be surprised if we saw much from the toy fair go up but I hope I'm wrong. Not down for Hulkbuster, anyway, but I'm curious to see the price and proper pics. Nice job on those risers, btw, kalel. Really like the way everything is displayed in your place.

Thanks very much. I think the Hulkbuster will sit in between the III and VII.:)

That will look very impressive..., I think I like the mark III statue more than the mark VII, they are both impressive though. :)

This is awesome. I'm having a hard time with the asymmetrical layout but it still looks great

Those cabinets look great. Are the bought or custom or a blend of both?

If they are custom did you build them or did you commission them?

I'm kind of with you on that. I love the added light up repulsors of the VII, but somehow the III looks meatier and more imposing. It's close though, so I certainly can see why someone prefers the VII.

With that being said The Huklbuster is calling to me bad. I want that bad boy.

No I made them. Actually I made everything in the picture beyond the plantation shutters and the framed posters.

Btw if by asymmetrical you're referring to the lack of a third poster, that is temporary. Right now they don't have IM 3 or Avengers posters, where I got those framed pictures.
