I have no idea where I have been that I missed this, :slap but I had no idea that this figure came with an LED light up lightsaber. Anyone have any idea about how this is going to work? Will it effect what hand I can put the lightsaber in if I want him using it with a single hand?

It'll probably work the same way as Ben's lightsaber. A detachable forearm with an attached light up lightsaber, and an extra non-light up lightsaber.

So likely if held in a single hand it will have to be one hand or the other unless its made to be swapped with either arm.

Yeah, I missed that too. That's what we get for pre-ordering before they show the actual product or we might have seen the severed forearm holding it. I do not like how it worked on Padawan Obi-Wan so I sure hope it is better than that but I really do hate the posing issues. Both HT OT Obi Wan and SSC PT Obi Wan have locked pose arms when using the lit saber so I really do hope they include a normal saber to use. At least they have gotten away from the pool-noodle sized blade that Padawan Obi Wan has, it looks ridiculous when he dueling Maul with these nice tapered Saber blades.

They are just pumping these things out as fast as they can, it seems. I'm going to spoiled when there are longer lag times with other figures.

Then again, I think I am reaching my saturation point in 1/6 figures.

Not one or the other, just the right hand. The saber is part of the hand, the hand part of the saber. The battery fits into the forearm and the switch to turn it on/off is also on the forearm. Just like Obi-Wan. And before you get your hopes up, the hilt for the light-up saber will not look like the hilt in either movie. It's going to be out of proportion if the one on Obi-Wan is any indication.

This was my face after realizing today's email from SS had nothing to do with my Han/Chewbacca two-pack:

if it is just one hand it looks like on Luke it will be his left...

That's not the lit saber. That's just Hot Toys typical lack of attention to detail when it comes to taking promo photos. Luke never once poses with his saber like that in either hand, let alone his left. :lecture

I personally don't care if the details of the hilt are ANH or ESB, but I'd like them to make a new hilt regardless, because the ones from the Bespin set are super soft in detail and undersized. The grey metallic color on them also leaves a lot to be desired.

Think they were going for the car-accident-face Hamill promo shot:

I also received the updated shipping notice. My first flex pay on this is not due until January. I hope I can keep my flex schedule, changing my flex payments makes it difficult to keep up with the payments. They have already pushed one of my HT Vader payments to Nov. making that an expensive month, now this! The last time this happened, I had to cancel most of my orders because everything got bunched together.

If HT pushes out the release, your flexpay gets pushed out also, since SSC can only charge that last payment once it's in stock. If the release gets pulled ahead, then no changes are made unless you ask them to.

Was happy to see this figure's release pulled up, so I will be getting my flex updated to December for sure.

My guess is that HT gives itself a buffer period to handle any reworkings due to customer complaints. Since teh only negative thing that was said about this figure is that the hair was a tad too dark, HT just said "Sweet! Ship them!"

I would not be surprised if Boba Fett arrives 6 months early as well for the same reason. So far no real complaints on that one either.

So why was Kenobi moved up so early then?

Because they knew they'd nailed the James Coburn likeness and didn't need anyone to confirm it. The outfit they just got from Hasbro in storage from the Kenobi they never released and it doesn't take so long to make some boots and a belt. The arm with saber is shared by Luke so it had to be done anyway.
