Based on the images, the head for HT seems to be based off the same material as the Sideshow bust

Man I wish I owned this bust. Really hope to get my ship notice from Toys2 this weekend, I've been wanting this bad since Toy Fair premiered it, and now the production one looks even cooler than the proto, so I'm even more excited.

What I like about the 1:6 figure is that it looks more "organic" and not like the "halloween skeleton suit" worn by the stuntmen on the set. This definitely looks more biomechanically "natural."

Some call it the Takeya version. To me, it's an awesome interpretation, especially for posing and I'm sure HT had to make some design changes to make it poseable. It ain't some little 6" kit, it is a heavily weighted 15" Figure. I'm guessing, just guessing they had to place a counterweight in the rear of the head for balance... :D

And MF, I agree, that bust is a work of fine Art...

Alright, I looked it up and apparently some have claimed the HT version is like the Takeya version but from what I can tell it is not. Takeya produced some model kits in Japan and the design is unique, has a much more elongated head and slender body. I can see why they would make that comparison with regards to the chest and waist of the body but the headsculpt is entirely different.

I can see why it's been labeled "Takeya" but as it has been pointed out, Takeya aliens have really long heads.

Thanks ambac, yeah, the HT certainly isn't THAT long. :lol

Hey MF: Request to the boy from Mass with Mad photo skills..

When you get yours (NEXT WEEK PROLLY!)... Can you please try to take a "Crawler pose" pic as these guys appeared in the air shaft, against a brown or amber filter to give it that "8 Meters!" look?

Are you referring to the wonderful moment when Hicks is looking with his light and it's like, nothing...nothing...oh ****!!! ?

I'll repost my message here as well.
I'm completely with Facebox on this. It is inaccurate, and HT got the sculpt right on their 5" version! Why they couldn't do it on their 1/6 version is a complete mystery.
I'm getting one but it won't go down as the best from Hot Toys in my book.

Thanks, I was wondering what happened to the world.

I have been into Aliens from the first time I was the movies.
In fact, aliens ARE my collection. Some say that my collection looks like a shrine dedicated to these guys. So I know what I'm talking about.

The Hot Toys figure is cool. Hell...it's bad ass!
But like screamingmetal mentioned, the 5" versions are better. Just buy one and compare the two...you'll see. :monkey3

I don't want to change opinions about this figure, I'm just frustrated that it looks like the Takeya interpretation.

Calling this alien accurate is like calling (stock)Hudson's head accurate to Bill Paxton.

Oh Yeah Bro. The Crawlers... so cool you're getting a Hicks too.

Nobody is calling the HT version "screen accurate" guys. It's an "amalgamation" of different sources composited into an idealized 15" figure. Some have a preference to the 5" figure because it fits with their idea of how the "screen accurate" i.e. "stunt version" should look. That's fine. But to draw comparisons to the hyper-realistically exaggerated art design of the Takeya sculpt is pretty far off. Obviously Takeya is going more for the H.R. Giger inspired look but the HT figure doesn't even come close to that.
