I know. :(
I'm venting mainly because the 12" version should have at least looked more like the 5" ones. Especially the texture, arm thingy and ribcage. Come on, it's a $140!

That is not the aliens I see when I watch "ALIENS".

How 'bout this one WG?

Looks like an Aliens Film puppet prop to me... I can NOT wait for this guy.

He was referring to that "snap-kit" figure. :lol

FB, maybe it's time to move on Bro... you made your point, over and over and over, same ones we all made 6 months ago. People are really excited about getting the new HT fig... let it go, man. :D

dekadentdave, I know.

pjam, I back down from nothing!

Though I will stop...... for now. :maul

Can't wait to get the ALIEN either. :D

I really do think the HT Aliens alien is a great-looking figure that is very close to the ones in the film... they even managed to give it highlights of blue to capture the film look. Now yes, on close inspection, there are aspects that are off... as there are with all figures. Those details are not obvious to me, but I'm not an expert on the Aliens alien design. But the dissatisfaction with those details seems to be the same type of argument like when people argue about the differences in Vader's helmet from IV to V. Honestly, the only thing that glares out to me as inaccurate at first glance is the "gauntlet bones" on the forearm.

Those forearm gauntlet bones are sick-ass shat though, very cool. Prolly taken from some Geiger drawing or whatever. I'm actually glad they were included... but I don't remember them in particular.

I remember them in the film -- it was one of the design changes that most stuck with me when I first saw the movie next to the skullcap removal -- but in the movie they were longer along the forearm, less squaty.

If I could swing the cash, I'd love to have three of these guys -- a gang of 3 aliens in different prowl positions would look wicked.

And YES, Facebox, I think in the movie the bone things on the forearms were more like your 5" figures.

Wasn't there some debate about "warriors" and "drones" or something? Like the HT figure is more like a 'drone' in the Queen's nest at the end? Maybe we can settle this debate by calling this HT version a 'drone'? Or warrior, if I have it backwards.

They (gauntlets) do look cool though WG, I just didn't remember them "in particular" as I am not a "self-professed" Geiger design expert either, but the figure itself is an excellent representation of the Warrior as I remember and that's all I care about, nits aside. Wish I could swing more too, def need more than one. Agreed...

Yeah, that's "screen accurate." I don't recall the bugs being painted piss-yellow.:lol

Lord have mercy!

Wor-Gar, all the ALIENS are the same in that movie.
The Alien in the 1st movie is sometimes referred to as a Drone.

The Dog Alien as a Scout.
All the others are called Warriors.

No definitive reasons why.

:lol

Very funny, Dave. I'll have to look up that chart Les posted long ago, I think it had the difference on it.

If I remember correctly, the 'drones' were the guys around the Queen's nest and the 'warriors' were the ones that took out most of the marines. Problem is, where do those aliens who came through the ceiling fit in? They act like 'warriors' but in the air vents, when they're scrambling on the walls, they look just like the 'drones' we see later.

I know there's lots of thought and justification on the finer alien points, but I really think it just gets down to 'puppet' versus 'dude-in-suit' that creates the differences...

So, with that said, my new personal law is: HT Aliens alien is a cool representation of the "dude-in-suit"... which is the one I like best. So there.

I don't recall any Aliens being drones (maybe the ones in the egg chambers who backed off) They all seemed to be fighters in Aliens. Drones are slave labor...

The Alien Warrior was certainly NOT a drone, whether it was called one or not. It was a killer...

My sentiments exactly.

I was just answering Wor-Gar's question.

Ah-ha! Yes, that was the way it was.

Still... I like my "dude-in-suit" description. :lol
