Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I always thought that Wanda and Strange were the best suited to beat Thanos. They are pretty much uncounterable for Thanos without a gauntlet.

I think the difference here is that past Thanos was more hungry, more ruthless. IW Thanos already had 2 of the stones when the film begins, and he was more stoic and reflective. See in IW Thanos didn't even try to kill any of the Avengers/GotG unless absolutely necessary. EG Thanos was just out to kill.

The other unknown was the physical toll on IW Thanos as a result of carrying the stones and wielding them. That and for the fight on Titan he'd just experienced the unexpected emotional toll of sacrificing Gamora. So on that point I agree, he was more reflective and likely also more distracted.

I absolutely love the reflective Thanos / vengeful Thanos split between IW / EG.

Sure both are still homicidal but different forms lol

Man 2.519B

Cameron must be having night sweats lol.

But I think his record is safe.

I don't know, $303.5 million to go.

It will be close.

Yes I love that 2014 Thanos was even more of a ******* than his 2018 self and that that was the Thanos they defeated in the final battle.

Absolutely and the most mind blowing part for me is that yes the Avengers defeated him but technically it was the stones that defeated him so in essence Thanos defeated himself as soon as he started on his quest for the stones and brought them together.

But look at the ingenuity and sacrifices it took to formulate and execute that strategy against him quite astonishing but also super tragic.

Holy crap that's totally right. He searched for the one thing capable of defeating his own self. Apparently Thor using Stormbringer at the end of IW was a fluke based on Thanos trying to defend himself with the stones and not his own combat skills.

Because in direct combat not even Thor and Cap jumping on him together could get the axe into him.

Can this movie get any better....and technically since Hulk was the one who got the time stone to make it all possible AND did the snap his controversy negative pull on EG is slowly fading away from memory and the only thing left is post consumption bliss like Khev on a recliner after his Thanksgiving meal lol

Totally, lol. The Avengers even made young Thanos taste victory all the way to the point of him snapping his fingers only to then realize in that very moment that he and all his armies were doomed. :thud:

Brolin and the CG facial animators played him absolutely perfectly.

Do you know that I never realized until yesterday that Stark’s nanotech armor gloves absorbed his sunglasses in IW!!

So now his maneuver in EG makes more sense to me.

Lets see if Lando’s little maneuver at the battle of Taanab is just as thrilling!

It's definitely slowed down a lot, but $268 million is attainable. Will be a nail biter.

WUT, now common movie inconsistencies have meaning in the MCU? :lol

Yep, lol. Even little things like how did Strange know to go get Wasp for the main battle since he'd never met her can all be covered under the "1 in 14 million" umbrella, lol. Strange saw millions of outcomes and Stark killing himself and winning the day only worked if this random Wasp chick he'd never met was also there so when he re-appeared on Titan with Peter and the GotG he then teleported everyone to Wakanda, gathered the fallen heroes there, then made sure to go grab Wasp off the rooftop before arriving at the battle. :D

I believe Strange knows almost everyone. Just like the Ancient one from the past knew Banner and Strange in the time travel scene. It has nothing to do with the 14 million futures, and more to do with the orb of Agamotto. Think of Proffesor X using celebro to locate all mutants on earth, except Strange can see far beyond earth and not just people. In the comics, it's a small floating orb. In the MCU, it's that big disco ball that floats in a room in the Dr Strange and IW movies. I'm assuming that's how Strange located Tony in the park in the beginning of IW.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

The Snap is confusing as hell as it pertains to the civilians.

Why was Hawkeye’s complete family dusted but Cassie Lang was spared. All the people that Scott saw at the cemetery or memorial, etc, etc

I guess all the circle of Peter’s friends got dusted but Aunt May was spared?

In five years what were all the super villains doing

The five year time jump and dusting of civilians needed to be more defined :slap

It was very specifically defined by Thanos in IW. Half of all life, totally random. Which means some households got split down the middle, some were spared completely, and some were totally wiped out. Obviously Hawkeye drew one of the shorter sticks when it came to his loved ones.

Hmm okay..I guess I need to see IW more carefully again.
