Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Man TROS better have one hell of an epic battle at the end because I just can't imagine any curtain call/send-off scene coming even close to the funeral/family reunions of AEG. It will probably be best if they don't even try and just go for the spectacle and then have Rey nod at Luke's ghost and call it a day. If they try to do some long lingering epilogue with Finn, Poe, Rose, Big Nosed Lady, Hannah, it'll just be embarrassing, lol.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Dude go to IW and rewatch the exchange between Strange and Stark.

Stark says “Things changed”

Strange says “Our oath to protect the time stone can’t be changed and this stone may be the best chance we have against Thanos!”

Stark replies “yeah well conversely it may be his best chance against us!”

doh!

Khev please time travel and come back to when i’m walking out of Empire in 1980 and tell me that in 2019 that superheroes from those silly comic books I have on my bed at home are going to be more epic than SW lol

And this guy will one day not only have a poignant and dramatic character arc but will somehow be badass with a beer gut, lol:

But yeah AEG absolutely one of the most satisfying epilogues of any franchise in history. It sucks so bad for GoT and ST to have to follow that.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

If the Avengers have access to time travel now, can't they bring back Tony from early 2023 to the present? Gemora from the past now lives in the present, so can't they just bring back a Tony?

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I liked that in SMH Tony interrupted Peter's hug to tell him to get out of the car but in AEG Tony interrupted Peter's story to give him a hug.

Don’t worry they will try not to rush it lol

Need that in toy form.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I don't know how to get my TROS/Mandalorian trailer excitement back for SW now. :gah:

JJ can deliver an epic finale after consulting with George right? Right???

I had no expectations that EG was going to do that to me, knock the TROS / Mando wind right out of my sails, but it did!

Sure some of it has to do with IX / Mando feeling like they’re so far away but i’m impressed by EG because the TROS trailer and Mando footage were pretty damn good.

You and I are pretty hardcore SW diehards so eventually we’ll be right back into the swing of things but for now i’m all about celebrating not just EG but IW and the MCU as a whole and diverting my full attention to Spiderman FFH and not SW.

Speaking of Spiderman FFH i’m blown away that Marvel is giving us a true immediate epilogue to EG just 3 months after EG and since phase 4 hasn’t even been announced yet it instantly makes Spiderman FFH a must see event of its own because of its proximity to EG.

Think about it we are getting more EG story in the same freaking summer!

Great picture!!!

And yeah, if Hot Toys makes this version of Thor I may break my "one figure per character" rule.

What’s the old saying again.....

Rules are made to be broken.

Shhhh take it easy on post traumatic hulk disorder JAWS let him have his Thor v Thor fantasy he’s just coming around to liking Endgame of course we all know Cap vs Cap made better narrative sense but just go along with his wishes.

Oh gosh JAWS yes Thor v Thor ABSOLUTELY would’ve been better than Cap v Cap.

:lol :lol :lol

But I'm right ;)

:lol :lol

I'm picturing you and JAWS like Thor and Star-Lord at the end arguing over who's in charge.

JAWS: *fake nervous laughter* "Heh heh heh heh we don't need to knife anyone"

jye: *laughing* "Yes there will be no knifing"

JAWS: "Because we all know Thor vs Thor would be better than Cap vs Cap right....?"

jye: "Oh yes of course. Of course" *whispering* "Of course"

lol

:lol :lol

But I'm right ;)

Yes.. The MCU and Cap no longer have to fear my wrath..

I will never enjoy it as much as you and Jye.. Like I said.. I tend to like more Superheroing in my Superhero movies. But I am so happy to not in the funk I was for the past two weeks :)

And yes.. Anybody but Cap fighting himself would be more interesting.. And that includes Pepper :lol

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

So my friends did not love Fat Thor.. But I tell you what.. When he looked like the above picture I thought he looked Awesome..

He reminded me of his father Odin from the Comics. Much more Viking like at this moment then the rest of the films.

Wish he got to do more or showed him doing more in the final battle

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I’ve been out of HT/SS 1/6 collecting for a while now but I couldn’t live with myself if I didn’t own the HT Cap / HT Armored Thanos from EG that’s how much this movie impacted me.

To have them facing each other will just be epic truly one of the best scenes in movie history for me.

There is no shame saying that the BIG Cap scene in this movie is easily up there with best that cinema has to offer.

Now the year wait for their arrival. :thud:

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

After watching it three times now I actually don't think that the Hulk was jipped so much with regard to the action as much as he was denied a satisfying emotional payoff at the end. So many characters got closure with loved ones or emotional sendoffs (or both.) Rhodey, Peter, and Pepper saying goodbye to Tony. Thor reflecting on who he wants to be and embarking on a new journey with his new team. Wanda and Clint bonding over those they lost. Clint, Scott, and T'Challa gathering together with their respective families. Cap's last moments with Bucky and Sam and of course Peggy. The GotG heading off in search of adventure. Valkyrie being anointed ruler of "New Asgard." Tony's big hologram speech. Even Happy gets a moment to bond with the daughter of his previous boss.

What did Banner get? He got to play DJ to Cap's sendoff. Nothing of his own. And I don't even think it would have taken much. General Ross was right there at the funeral. They could have done a quick shot of him saluting Banner or at the very least nodding in respect and appreciation. Hulk's biggest critic validating his ultimate heroism. At first I thought maybe they didn't want to interrupt the perfect flow of the funeral but they segued smoothly enough into Clint and Wanda having a moment by the lake so I'm sure they could have worked in Ross and Banner just as well.

That's why I don't really feel like Bucky or the GotG or BP got snubbed in the final battle, because they all got little character specific bookend scenes. Almost everyone did except Banner. That's what feels like a missed moment to me more than him raging on the battlefield.

Your dead on with that. I was only disappointed that the BW and Hulk romance was just forgotten....did I miss something?

Then the implied that BW true love was Clint and vice versa? The platonic relationship between them was very refreshing to see in a major film....I know there is history there, but HE was married and BW was his friend because he saved her from the assassins life.

BW was falling for Banner, and that just.....ended?

Sent from the inside of a giant slug in outer space.....

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I think the Russo's said they shot a Fat Thor vs Lean Thor fight but cut it from the movie and used the Cap vs Cap fight instead? Or maybe I misheard (them shooting it, but they definitely considered it) since the interview was just playing in the background while I was working.

Which scene implied Clint and Natasha were romantic with each other? I took away that they were really good friends, but nothing else really.

The hulk/widow romance did drop off, but honestly I think that's for the best. That whole thing kinda came out of nowhere with AOU. Which as a film didn't really do great things for her character in general.

Definitely agree that an emotional bookend for Banner was needed and would have helped his story feel complete though. Wonder if we'll see him again anytime soon. Would love to see him interact with the fantastic four whenever they get brought in.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

What about Nat from 2012, could they bring her to the present :dunno
