Eh... you don't have to like my opinion, but I thought this film was terrible!

I mean, it's just a bunch of nonsense and a lot of cheap fan service. I don't think I will ever revisit it.

If anything, this was confirmation that I'm over this type of schlock. Sad to see how much quality has dwindled.
Personally I don’t see it as cheap fan service. I see it as basically a love letter to all of the pre-MCU Marvel movie franchises and essentially a farewell to them.

I probably would’ve preferred a more “grounded”, for lack of a better word, movie like the first two but I like this for what it is.

I think it’s handled better than No Way Home. I dunno, it has great moments but something about that movie just doesn’t sit right with me.

Super fun moofy. Story is indefensibly threadbare. But goes to show you can make a bare bones premise into something special if you love it the way Leslye Headland doesn't love Star Wars.

Needle scratch!!!!!!!

Everyone dies at the end. Supergirl gets murdered over and over. That entire universe is destroyed by Zod. Young Barry transforms from goofball to inhuman monster before dying. And after all that, Barry doesn't save his mom. She still dies. It was a sad movie. It had some funny parts, but it was not a comedy.

I wouldn't say "terrible" but it was incredibly light on substance. Utterly forgettable after watching. The movie will be revisited in youtube clips only; there's no need to ever sit through the two hours a second time. It was mindless fluff. Truly mindless.

Yeah, not really much to it. Just an excuse to get to the cameos as quickly as possible. Probably the most intentionally lazy/dumb plot for a movie of this size that I can recall lately.

I loved No way home but you are right. SOmething is off about it. They could of done more? Like I just kinda feel like at the end of the day I still don't really care to much about holland Spidey or his wacky idiot frineds. Sad tbh.

That's DC for 'light family entertainment'. Haven't you been paying attention?

Pretty much. It also had a lot of holes in it’s logic for me. So the villains got pulled out right before they die, but now they’re being sent back with no powers so they’re extra dead now.

I fully agree. it's really awful. it truly is nonsense.
it's not as funny or charming as Ryan wants it to be.
he thinks he created a super funny super charming movie but it's annoying

if it was a love letter they wouldn't ridicule and trash so much of wolverine suit.
Just got out.

This movie is a failure at so many levels.

Many many levels.

Cameos that made no sense at the expense of a proper narrative with cameos that would’ve made sense.

A stupid timeline crisis that made no sense after Loki season 2.

More later have to drive now lol
jye my friend jye I agree

Come Here Dr Evil GIF

Just got home I have to get this off my chest.

If you want a self contained superhero movie that is hilarious with decent action set pieces THAT AMOUNT TO NOTHING and weird nostalgia **** cameos THAT AMOUNT TO NOTHING and an amazing tour de force by Jackman as Wolverine who looked amazing then you are going to love this movie.

However…

If you wanted the promised Marvel Jesus RESET love letter to the X-Men
teaming up with the Avengers in End Game
to course correct their disastrous multiverse narrative then this movie is NOT for you!

They talked so much in the movie about respecting the X-Men team
right down to the importance and value of their costumes then they don’t even show them at all WTF
:slap

Instead we got weird freaking cameos that were pointless and out of left field.

Oh boy
Elektra
that was so critical to the plot….NOT!!

Just great ANOTHER STANDALONE WOLVERINE movie just what we needed!

The epic Loki S2 ending made this movie irrelevant.

Gambit only, lame!

X-23 sunglasses for her super bad shaky cam fight waa dumb.

Why bring back Juggernaut if he’s just going to throw punches and do nothing with what makee him Juggernaut in the first place!

The Deadpool corps fight was a huge waste of time that ultimately served no narrative purpose
.

FAIL!

Seeing
Snipes as Blade did blow me away though after all of this time and he looked great.

I saw this tonight to avoid seeing spoilers, and I have to agree with many critical comments here. It did feel like empty calories in some ways, though not nearly as bad as Flash in my opinion.

Humor with Deadpool has gotten a bit stale in my opinion but it is what it is. Was funny seeing Tom Wombsgams from succession in such a major role.

Cameos were fun overall though we get that so much in these movies that none of them had too much impact. The first major one they run into in the wasteland was a nice surprise though that character was ultimately treated like a typical silly Deadpool joke.

Best thing about it by far was Logan. Jackman was great, the cameo versions were great, including one that was from an awesome comic cover I had a a kid. But the suit in particular was so good particularly in the last quarter of the film.

hate me for saying this, but flash had more heart. it just did. with the mom. the relationship between the two Barry's. batman sacrificing himself.
Supergirl sacrificing herself. letting go of the past. there was a charm in some dialogue and scenes. batman having a heart to heart with Barry. Supergirl being rescued.

and with Deadpool. this movie lacks any charm. it lacks any heart outside of wolverine.... Deadpool literally ruins serious scenes. he's such an annoying jerk. you don't even care when something sad happens. you don't care about his mission. you don't care about the date of anyone

I can see that. Personally flash didn't work on emotional level for me but Miller did put on a good dramatic performance in those scenes. And yes the Deadpool drama scenes didn't work very well but the wolverine ones worked extremely well for me anyway.

There are spoilers (and images) all over the internet. I'm glad I was able to actually be surprised by a few things. My favorite moment was.....

byrne.png
the two and a half seconds we got to finally see Hugh in (a variation of) my favorite costume...the brown costume! I was NOT expecting that!! And there was even a blink-and-you-miss-it recreation of the cover of Hulk 340 by McFarlane!! And X-Men 251 with Wolvie nailed to the X. And even Age of Apocalypse Wearpon X. There really were some cool deep cuts for hardcore nerd fans that will completely go over the heads of the casuals in the audience.

Another reason I compared this to the Flash movie is that they both brought abandoned projects to life, years after the fact. We finally got to see Nic Cage as Superman and Channing Tatum as Gambit.

Surprised nobody ever used that as an excuse to make that Nic Cage as Superman figure.

I hope the two seconds of screentime will justify some companies making a brown suit Hugh Jackman. I grew up in the 80s....the brown is THE costume for me!

Speaking of masks....

I think the reason it looked a little goofy in real-life was the whited out eyes. We've been so used to seeing the actor's eyes ever since the first Batman movie, even though if it were comic accurate, they'd all be whited out. It worked for Deadpool cause his whole face is covered, and they can use animation for the expressions.

It just looked...."off" on Wolverine for some reason. I'm still really really glad we finally got the mask after alllll these years. Don't get me wrong. It was just a tad goofier looking than I imagined.

Agree on the white eyes, it is a totally uncommon look, for a half face mask in a real life comic adaption. That’s why I hope they won’t do it for Batman.

And to all the comments how terrible the movie was or how thin and illogical the plot was. I really don’t get what your expectations were. I mean I get it, you might have skipped all teasers/trailers for spoiler reasons, but even then, taking the first two DP movies into account what did you expect this movie to be? The Dark Knight, another Logan, the second coming of Christ?

We all know Ryan Reynolds and his humor and type of movies he makes too well. So you not liking or even hating the movie for what it is, might be your own fault for going in with too high expectations, expectations this movie was never going to match.

From the first real teaser I knew what to expect, another „goofy“ DP movie with some crazy and violent action scenes, which will not redefine action cinema, but will work out fine. A lot of good fan service, even if we don’t like the choice of characters or their interpretation, but that‘s hard/impossible to achieve on a forum like this. 😂

This movie is not amongst my top 5 comic movies by far, but I loved Hugh in it and even the chemistry between DP and Wolverine worked so good. Was the plot thin and exchangeable, a big YES to both. Did this stop me from enjoying the movie and have some big laughs. Absolutely not.
