Its the installation that I'm more worried about. The decal process was a bit complicated for an amateur like me.

Don't worry!

I repaired the old dome just as the russian guy in the video did.

If you get good doublesided tape the dome will be sticked to the torso really hard.

Mine never came off again!

Sorry to hear Hot Toys have let peeps down and don't seem to have learned anything from the problem with their first version of the ED-209.. I decided to get the Neca version, while waiting to see if there were problems with the dome on the new Hot Toys version... Tbh, I wasn't expecting to get the answer quite so quickly.

Hot Toys really should offer customers a hard plastic, replacement dome.. if Big Chief could offer a replacement head sculpt for their Amy Pond figure, Hot Toys have no excuse not to sort this design flaw out for customers.

I have been on every Youtube review I could find and warned people the dome is cracking, even Chinese and wrote it in Chinese too.
Who knows maybe word might get back or will stop people buying this ****!

hi fellow freaks I am new to doing messages on the forms but I can take no more of Hot Toys not fixing problems with there figures that have had in the past and not making it better on the next version they do because we pay so much for this hobby and they don't take responsibility for there actions and i have been buying hot toys sens my first comic con in 08 in San Diego and i got the hot toys bug then lol but i wish they would fix there mistakes

I don't think we will be seeing another 1/6 ed-209 from hot toys, at least not in this decade. I'm just going to cross my fingers that my dome will hold up, and just try to put it out of my mind. I'll definitely be buying a custom dome though from whoever produces a replacement. Anthrapoid is more than capable and seems motivated, but even if he can't do to his health issues (no pressure bro health before toys always:duff) I'm certain some one will produce a replacement dome with in the next year. I bet most people will do like me and you CollectorGuy, and buy the replacement dome even if their figures dome is perfect. If I'm right then someone could actually make some good money on this project assuming they could minimize their cost and labor, not to mention they would be a rock star to ed-209 owners.

Whatever happens just try to remind yourself that it really is just a toy. A ******ing sweet toy, but still just a toy.

I to hopefully will buy a custom if I can get one from Anthrapoid, though I plan to put clear varnish on mine so when it dries it will be solid and will hopefully stop the shrinkage.

Welcome halogamer101 :family
Its great you have come on here, the more we get standing up against Hot Toys shabby workmanship the better :)

I with you skullboy and anyone else that feels the same way because we have to if not the are going to keep doing it i mean don't get me wrong i love all my hot toys that i have and i have a lot of them i have about 75 and counting lol but if they don't fix there mistakes and i know about all from all my fellow freaks on the forms from over the years so thank you and i will let me and fellow freaks be heard.

Dear Hot Toys

Your company built the ****in' thing. Now, I gotta deal with it, I don't have time for this bull****. Regards C. Boddicker

After 1/6th robo, I think I'm done with HT

Yup.

All I have left on order as far as Hot Toys products is Police Shootout T-800 and Robocop (I cancelled the Batman-armory). Unless they show something that wets my appetite at SDCC (doubtful since I'm only interested in TermRoboBat), I'm done.

Basically, unless there's BD Murphy/Robo, Returns Batman, Catwoman, Penguin, 1/6 Endo or Kyle Reese this summer, it's a no go.

I've been thinking of canning the armory too. It's getting less interesting to me as it gets closer to release.

It's interesting to read the many concerns and "outrage" by collectors affected by this fiasco, but the bottom line . . . is the situation going to be properly addressed and rectified by HT?

Moreover, will anyone/everyone affected by this actually go through in getting a refund or God forbid a replacement and move on from this and carry through with their intention of never giving HT another dime other than posting away about it?

IMHO . . . doubtful.

Im going to put a different picture of the cracked domes up every day on there facebook page. Just done one now :D
