No, it is not the same. The Cockpit that will be for sale is much more detailed. This 1:6 Falcon is very rough detailwise. It is just for show.

If the show falcon had the detail of the cockpit, including parts all having been made with custom moulds, I don't think there's any way it could have been produced for less than a few million and they'd have to sell many of them at over $100k just to break even. ;)

Really showing off what they can do in that scale.

See above. This is a scratch build and has little to nothing to do with production, what HT is famous for. Taking a scratch built object and turning it into a production product is an entirely different ball game. ;)

According to the article the Falcon weighs a ton :lol

I am surprised the cockpit is not the prototype environment we saw at SDCC (at least I assume it's not with the blacked-out windows). I figured it would plug into the piece and people could see the figures in the cockpit as well :huh

I am betting you have not actually seen it. Rough is not how I would describe it. And sections of it are as detailed as any production piece. The interior of the ship is fleshed out just like the bridge in most places

That would have been a cool idea. They could just place the cockpit hatch/windows to the side.

It would be awesome if this thing had cross sections. A section of Stormtroopers patrolling the Falcon corridors. Han and Luke in the gun stations. Han, Luke, Ben, etc. in the secret smuggling hatch reenacting the "who's the fool, the fool or the fool who follows him" scene.

Still neat as is to recreate the hangar scene.

Whew, just got my order in. That was close.

The limit per person pisses me off. I wanted two. One for display and one to keep in the art box. Time to get a relative to sign up and order so I can get another.

The interior cut-away is a separate piece right? I don't see any open/interior (nor detailed) portions on the Falcon itself.

Looks like it. Seems like there's a huge wall behind that little diorama. I'm assuming it's like their Tantive IV display they had last year with Vader and the troops.

The corridor to the room entrance looks to be a cardboard cutout background.
