I love the SS V2 Maul since it was best Maul out there, I knew HT would make one and like I said then, they’ll make it better. Some didn’t believe but the SS sculpt isn’t Ray Park and the tats are off. I have two SS V2 and will buy 2 maybe 3 HT Mauls. He’s my favorite. The thing that SS always does is make the nose paint too round and too late. Mauls nose paint is more like an Aquaman symbol upside down. Also the SS eye sockets are too round. They highest tops need to be more spiked and curved.

Yeah they've gotta do an evil snarl like this as a second headsculpt. It's a DX dammit. And they'd set themselves further apart from the SS version.

Just really hope HT reads these forums after a Con to get feedback. A second evil sculpt is clearly wanted.

@ Hot Toys : take this picture and make a second sculpt from it !

Seems most of us are focusing on the headsculpt, did any analysis for the speeder also? I think it is a critical part in this DX also.

I'm hoping HT revise/re-sculpt the proto sculpt before showing a toothy/snarling version....i what to see more TPM Ray Park....not a Battlefront cartoony version..

I’m sure they did which is part of the inconsistency, they probably also made choices based on the shoot, like the lightsaber fight in the desert, not many closesups to really notice, back then you didn’t have DVD even to take stills and notice, you had publicity shots and that’s all.

I think pers are amazing. They add so much life to the figures. I've had no issues with it either.

Neither company seems to be able to get the black lines right.

Also, the SS one looks a bit more like the actor, imo. HT looks better quality tho.

I’ve yet to see detail like that for his teeth in any figure . I think Figuarts came close but it was tiny
