Not exactly rare, look at this Todd. I paid $189 + international shipping, which was like $50. Today, after so many months of the release, I can still get it, and that too for maybe $180 shipped, if I throw in a Best Offer.

I wasn't cautious earlier, got late and paid $300 for my Mark VI shipped . A year later, I can still get it from the bay or here on the board for $300 shipped. The prices reach a peak and stabilize I guess. And in some cases might go down as well.

I wish HT got the silver portions of the armor correct. It needed to be more reflective, not so matte in it's finish. Can't win 'em all, I guess.

Still I'm happy with mine.

Good question. I'm sure you can prep any surface to accept chrome paint, especially if it's a surface that doesn't flex.

Personally, if Hot Toys used the same color they used on the Mk.II AU, I would be satisfied.
