Theoretically War Machine could do that as well but since Tony's Arc themselves were being refined specifically to power the suit and its functionalities and War Machine is functioning on an archaic version of the same reactor it'd probably depower the suit completely as we saw in Iron Man I, that depending on the amount of damage and where it has to be syphoned that the older reactors cannot sustain too much work.

Whiplash's situation is different though, in the Monaco scene his reactor again in theory would be no different than the Arc Reactor 1.0 which couldn't do that or sustain massive amounts of power needed for long term usage. But with the creation of Whiplash II, one would think that Vanko would improve on his creation and create a 2.0 at minimum (Tony's Mark III reactor) which could be capable.

Since the power core is different in the Arc Reactor 3.0 (Mark VI) its completely possible that the reason he can fire from his chest is due to the increased functionality and increased power surges which means that none of the others could do it but I have a feeling that Rhodes would upgrade his own reactor post events of IM2.

I ordered 2 from SS as well. :yess:

I am kind of surprise at the price and the non-refundable deposit, but I am not going to cancel anyway. So, the NRD is not a major concern. Must complete my collection and the Mark V is just plain awesome.

Yeah, not a major concern at all since I will be keeping my order.

The movies have shown Tony using 4 different Arc Reactors (there maybe more in between)

Arc Reactor 1... Mk. 1, Pepper used for display case, and Mk.3

Arc Reactor 2... Mk. 2 & 3 and Iron Monger... A similiar or same would be powering Mk. 2/WM in the 2nd movie.

Arc Reactor 3... Mk. 4 and 5 (Replaceable palladium core)

Arc Reactor 4... Mk. 6 (Triangle core).

The term RTs are use for the palm's and feet or the IM suits (excluding Mk.1) and WM

I don't count a difference between 2 and 3, because while it was in Iron Monger (the 2.0) and he was killed, there is nothing to note or mention that the actual reactor itself was killed. Even Tony's 1.0 is still blinking and flashing after the intense pulse. All of them run on palladium, there is nothing in the film that shows that the 2.0 didn't have an interchangable core which is why I scaled it back to three versions instead of four.

Someone say my name? :lol

Vanko built an Arc Reactor based on the initial plans drawn up by his father and Howard Stark, the same technology that Tony Stark improved on in the cave to keep himself alive. What is being referred to as the Repulsor Transmitter I believe (should actually be referred to as the Arc Reactor Transmitter technically) is the chest piece that occurs in the Mark suits from the Mark II to the Mark VI which makes contact with the actual Arc Reactor in Tony's chest and syphons the power throughout the suit. Think of Tony as the batteries and the ART as the connector pieces which transmits the electricitiy.

War Machine does not have an ART because Rhodes himself has no Arc Reactor. Like Vanko, Rhodes would need an actual Arc Reactor to power the suit, one that would be placed within the chest cavity based on a similar harness as we saw in Whiplash I (the Monaco scene).

So Bandito is correct, if the Mark V was holding anything it'd be a true reactor not the thin connector piece located in the chestplates of the Mark suits.

yeah That makes sense, it wasnt explained very well at all in the movie

There is a major difference of the Arc Reactor itself for me to separate version 2 and 3 (Other than a "replaceable" squarish thing that may or may not be present in both versions, but unlikely):

10 segmentations on (the outer rim) version 2 (was shown in Mk.2 autopsy in IM2, and throughout the first movie)

8 segmentations on version 3 (Maybe designed to burnt out to minimised the palladium poisoning).

^ Which should be reason enough (design wise) to separate version 3 from 2 ... as was version 2 from 1

Lol :lol

You can bold whatever you'd like I see the differences as simple design differences done by the production team, nothing in the story itself dignifies that as actual differences so I guess agree to disagree.

Bandito : you cant argue with anything The Mike says, get use to things around here :lol

on another note, does anyone think it would be worth petitioning for a race suit?

Worth petitioning in terms of seeing if HT will do one or worth in terms of having it on our shelves? I'd love a Race Suit Tony but these petitions are like rocking in a rocking chair, gives you something to do but in the end gets you nowhere.

well i figured i have a tony HS from Mk 4, I have a ton of TT and this figure really should have the racing suit (glove hands and boots too) and we all no if we yell loud enough HT listens, I just figured we should start yelling

:goodpost::exactly::1-1:I agree with you. For the price tag on this guy, it really should include the racing suit. Especially since the Mark V was in such a small portion of the movie. I say it's worth a shot, take the Falconer or the T-800 for example. Where do I start yelling?:gah:

Facebook maybe :wink1:

I'm not sure that the cost for HT to add (last minute and post-specs and pre-order listings) a full racing gear set w/sculpted glove hands and boots is equivalent to them adding a black T-shirt for the T-800 or a tiny Falcon for that particular Pred.

I couldn't claim to be knowledgeable about the ins and outs of the costs of goods manufacturing, but I feel that the racing outfit would be a futile request from fans. Shouldn't stop you from trying though, I suppose.

I think given the price it is, I'm glad it doesn't include the race suit and a head as then it would be another $40 more easy.

Thats how I feel about it too, and I'm not really into having the race suit either. However, for those of you who do want the race suit I can kind of see HT making a race suit Tony kinda like the mech test version.

Yeah I wouldn't mind seeing that done "right" as it's own figure with a partially deployed suitcase and what not. Maybe two head sculpts, one clean and one bloody.
