$209 for a figure with basically one or two possible poses? What a freakin' joke! There's no head to sculpt and paint or likeness to license so they're saving money big time, and yet the figure costs $50 more than the Mark III did in 2008. At the rate Hot Toys is raising prices, the Avengers Iron Man suit will cost $400.

Hate to think how high the prices will go.

Just ordered a MK V though, the $20 deposit will make things interesting from now on, you'd want to be serious about getting the figure before ordering.

Id say it would have a low production also possibly due to the LTD EDITION tag being held to it.

Cannot win with some ppl.
Pre ordered through Loontentoys...will get here sooner.

I truly hope I never reach a point in my life where I don't even bat an eye at a 30% price increase. You guys likely wipe your asses with twenty dollar bills, but I like to weigh a figure's price-to-features ratio, and this figure has got to be one of the lightest on features while being one of the most high-priced. The only more ridiculous figure is the Hot Toys' Sam Flynn permanently fastened to his bike.

The Mark VI offers infinitely more value for the money; I guess that'll have to be my only Iron Man unless someone has a sale on the V.

can this guy move in the waist like the mark 4 he seems stiff like make war machine stiff

I think it's just hard to take someone seriously that's complaining about the price of a collectible or toy (not you specifically Spanbauer, I'm talking in general). You want to complain about taxes, utilities, food, etc. I'm with you, but not when it comes to this kind of stuff. Also, I won't argue with you in regards to your value comparison since the Mark VI definitely seems like a better value for what you get than the Mark V. Although the value comparison doesn't take the manufacturer into account and the cost to develop, etc.

I'm really surprised about the NRD on this one. It made sense for the $300 items but this isn't any bigger ticket than other items.

So it seems like this is the route SS is going to go. Maybe just too many people were canceling their orders. It probably weeds out the impulsive shoppers who order then have buyers guilt & cancels when they get their warehouse arrival notice. Leaving them with stock they can no longer move because everyone has ordered somewhere else.

It does, the thing is when it started they said only "big ticket items" and specifically said no 1/6 figures. Then we started seeing some imports getting it, now more 1/6 figure imports....is the problem really that bad that all of a sudden they are going across the board? How long until they move into SS 1/6?

Well I'm sure if SS still did 1/6 it might be an issue. :)

Seriously though, it might happen with the next large priced 1/6 SW or G.I. Joe (anything over $175 it seems.) I bet if the Waxer/Boil/Numa set had been released now it would have required a NRD.

Bad was $199, Mark VI $209-15. It never happened. How do you justify that then? ;)
