Cancellations are half SSC fault though, they have a very vague release date on products, i have three or more orders for 1st QTR, ones been delayed two are shipping at the same time and one can be any time between those three months, i usually have to cancel because SSC keeps shipping multiple product around the same time, i'll have the cash but not all at the same time,

Another thing that bugs me about this deposit business is that we had no notice that HT IM MK5 would be up for pre-order today, and with Kratos money beeing taken today i dont have enough to order right now so i have to leave it a few days, if this was an item expected to sell out straightaway i'd be screwed, in order for this deposit thing to continue they need to post notices on which products will require a deposit and when exactly they will be up for pre-order, so people can plan ahead, i can easily see exclusive going out of stock fast and if you havent got the money that very moment for the deposit, you're missing out.

End of rant

This is a super rant.

I am very upset with SSC for the non-refundable deposit for this reason: I ordered the Mark IV on June 26th, 2010. The estimated ship date was Q3 2010, which was then upgraded to September 2010, which was then delayed to Q1 2011, then finally updated to January 2011. I received my shipping notice yesterday, and can expect delivery around the 21-24th of January.

God bless SSC, but every delay has been a tremendous letdown. I've been ACHING for this figure. And since the Mark V has an ETA of Q3 2011, we might not see this figure until well into 2012. And SSC wants to appear to not trust ME?

And since SSC seems to, in truth, have NO CLUE when these figures will ACTUALLY be available, then perhaps they shouldn't take preorders so damned early.

Like I said, God bless SSC, but c'mon now...

You only live once, why not do what or get what you want.

Which is why I'm gonna eat it and have already signed up for the a** _____****.

can this guy move in the waist like the mark 4 he seems stiff like make war machine stiff

As far as the suits go, this SHOULD be the MOST flexible one, since it was the least heavily-armored of the bunch. And also the least bulky. Fingers crossed.

I hope this post doesn't seem overly negative, because it's not. Just a tiny bit of venting.

BTW what would be a SWEET addition would be an interchangeable hand clutching Whiplash's chest RT!!

You should be _____ing at Hot Toys then, not Sideshow. Sideshow has no control over when Hot Toys finishes a product and ship to them. SS can just give a estimate.

I've been thinking about this too, with the amount of delays the MK4 has had i have pretty much no expectations of getting the MK6 in the 1st QTR time-frame they state, more like Q4

In terms of SSC not knowing when the product will actually be available, and taking pre-orders early, i only wish that Game distributors and movie marketers wouldn't do the same, i hate the excess of hype and expectation that leads up to games that were rushed to fit the window of release determined by the publisher, when will they learn that if they announce and continually tease a game two years before release that it will never live up to expectations.

Luckily HT almost alway lives up to the hype! :hi5:

They used to do this with products few years ago. Give specific release dates and when things would have to be pushed back people _____ed a fit. Then they went to giving the quarter to give a better idea of the range to expect things. There are always many reasons as to why things are delayed and honestly its not that big of a deal.

I'm not shocked that it just went up. Thats the way things have been with HT items for a while now. I would have thought they'd wait till tomorrow since the NL is only 24 hours off but its not like its something that will sell out in seconds those items get PPO or go up in the NL. Now, the deposit thing did surprise me and if its going to be on 1:6th now a little notice would be nice.

You so crazy! I just ordered one, from Alter Ego. :yess:

Yeah, but you knew that already. :lol

I agree, but since SSC is the middleman, I think that they should realize that when they put up a preorder, then it's official, and the routine delays from HT will only serve to upset customers and INCREASE the amount of cancellations. Don't you think?

A better solution would be for SSC to announce that a figure/statue is 'Coming Soon' and then wait until the supplier (HT) has a definitive shipping date. This would lead to fewer cancellations and greater overall customer satisfaction. For a figure to be delayed 7 months means that there were MAJOR issues with e manufacturer, or MAJOR miscalculation on the part of the partner (SSC).

Luckily HT almost alway lives up to the hype! :hi5:

And this is why we all buy up damn near every product.

Again, this is just a bit of venting. I love this game!

No, I don't think so. If people ordered it close to release you'd still end up with multiple cancellations because folks didn't have the cash when it shipped so quick. Plus they have to let HT know how many they will need to distribute and I'm sure they have to know about that well in advance.

I know people have said this before, but all they had to do was add the racing suit outfit and the mark iv sculpt, simply get a true-type seperately and BAM you got racing suit tony, for this price it should've been a given, and a great way to cap off their Iron Man Armour series.

188. is too high a price for this figure. this is the ONLY Ironman figure that only has a helmeted, non-opening head.
I don't see any flip up arsenals. I just don't see anything special about this figure that demands a price that they assigned to mark 3 BD or Mark 6 BD and look at what we got with those figures.
It sucks because I know I'll have to get it to complete the line up.
This should be around 165. I'll have to see more until I order the figure.

I think its more the fact that toys2 for example has had 2 full shipments of the Mk4 already and sideshow still hasnt got these in, i got 2 mk4s already from toys2, i paid 179.99 + 13 bucks shipping and have had both of them for weeks now, i can perfectly understand why sideshow customers are upset, i would go INSANE waiting for these awesome figures while people already have had them for almost a month now

Exactly, I cant believe that after all of our "wishlist" ideas people have been posting -since that rough prototype was shown- that HTs completely ignored that everyone WANTED A DX 'style' of figure for this release, instaed they almost went the other way with it as this figure is pretty bare in comparison to what we expect an iron man figure include

2 ordered through SS. Can't wait to complete my hall of armor through this movie.

I ordered 2 from SS as well. :yess:

I am kind of surprise at the price and the non-refundable deposit, but I am not going to cancel anyway. So, the NRD is not a major concern. Must complete my collection and the Mark V is just plain awesome.

Guys when u all said $180 does that include the shipping price or just the order price? Thanks

MIKE! clarification needed on post #334 :lol

Someone say my name? :lol

Vanko built an Arc Reactor based on the initial plans drawn up by his father and Howard Stark, the same technology that Tony Stark improved on in the cave to keep himself alive. What is being referred to as the Repulsor Transmitter I believe (should actually be referred to as the Arc Reactor Transmitter technically) is the chest piece that occurs in the Mark suits from the Mark II to the Mark VI which makes contact with the actual Arc Reactor in Tony's chest and syphons the power throughout the suit. Think of Tony as the batteries and the ART as the connector pieces which transmits the electricitiy.

War Machine does not have an ART because Rhodes himself has no Arc Reactor. Like Vanko, Rhodes would need an actual Arc Reactor to power the suit, one that would be placed within the chest cavity based on a similar harness as we saw in Whiplash I (the Monaco scene).

So Bandito is correct, if the Mark V was holding anything it'd be a true reactor not the thin connector piece located in the chestplates of the Mark suits.

Also… theoretically that could possibly mean that only Tony can fire a repulser beam from his chest, which at the least he's been the only one to be shown to do that.
