Re: Hot Toys - MMS 262 - Star Wars Episode IV - 1/6th scale Chewbacca Collectible...

If we get any resemblance to the Chewy on the left, Ill be ecstatic!

Interesting comparison.

I'm keeping my order until the last possible minute because it costs me nothing...

hey can someone explain to me what " extras " you receive by purchasing the "set"

is this what you get by ordering the "set"

This Collectible Figure Set will include an additional Stormtrooper belt and blaster rifle for Han Solo and an additional heavy blaster for Chewbacca.

I'm still new here so apologies for probably a repeat question. I pre ordered this set on a payment plan. Can I return for full refund if not satisfied with chewies snout and eye placement in hand?

Are you guys talking about the delay to August ship date, or is there another delay? Just wanted to make sure I did not miss another delay notice.

Did you flex pay him by chance? I did flex pay route and was wondering if they charged you 10.00 for each flex payment charged if you went that route?
If you paid an NRD, then you are just out the NRD if you cancel a flexpaid item. If you didn't pay an NRD, then it's worse. I believe $20 for every flexpay payment. I think Lordscum advised earlier that he had Chewie on one-time payment with no NRD, so he will be penalty free.

We were just hoping that there will be a big delay to get Chewie right, but Pix is likely right and that ship has sailed. No announced delays beyond the last one that moved these guys to August.

I bought the two pack and an single chewie. The single chewie I paid 23.00 nrd at release and did 4 flex pays. I was thinking I should wait to see him in hand and if unhappy return him. I live Az so return shipping won't be bad. Just which route would save me the most money. Getting cold feet after sdcc pics.

Thanks for the intel brother.

Yep, I think there's a lot of us in that boat. :lol I do think in-hand Chewie will be better but we'll see. If the price for the set weren't so dear (especially ordering from Canada... works out to about $650 CAD), I could probably handle even SDCC Chewie, but unfortunately for HT there are many competing interests for that cash.

I hope in hand turns out better. From the neck down looks fine. But that damn protruding muzzle is rough. Return shipping would suck for you Canadian's. I will wait and see till I get him in hand. Rather eat shipping charges than eat nrd plus flex pay cancellation fees on top of it.

Saving my one free refund of nrd for bigger ticket item if needed. Guess now we wait and see. Still excited to see him in hand, but cautious. Don't want to get hopes up. Better going in with low expectations than high. Hurts less falling down hard than getting up off the ground.

Just to clarify, afattori, if you paid an NRD on your flexpay item and cancel before shipping, then the NRD takes the place of the flexpay penalties. So, for example, I paid a $48 NRD for the Han/Chewie set and have made 7 flexpays. If I were to cancel now, I'd only pay the $48 and not $140.00 ($20 x 7 FP payments). Really the flexpay penalties will kind of be hard to run into now, as there's less and less stuff under $200 and they usually only allow those more inexpensive items to be broken up into 2 or 3 payments, anyway.

That's a good idea, especially if you buy statues or whatnot. I've realized I've put a few things on pre-order and flex in kind of the hype of the moment, so paying a couple NRDs has taught me a lesson to be more mindful before committing. Get why SSC has to charge them but I'll be avoiding preordering without some kind of incentive from now on, with the odd exception (will probably order Leia day one).

FWIW...

I went and looked at the proto pics of Solo yesterday. I wanted to see the difference between the new Han sculpt and the old one. In doing so, there is a very clear photo with Chewie standing behind Han. It is a profile shot with Chewie looking toward the right. The protruding muzzle is the same. Even there it is very noticeable. You can eaaily tell it was heavily futtzed to reduce hair volume and lay flatter, but it is undeniable that the muzzle still sticks out too far. The non futtzed SDCC Chewie is making it worse and easily noticeable.

I believe we are looking at production pics, unfortunately.

I would post the photo but Im getting ready for work

having to put an NRD down based on a prototype doesn't seem fair... i am still optimistic, but having put the cash out already, feeling a little cornered.

never forget, we are the ones who hold the power... we can change things through our own behavior. SS asking for an NRD may only result in massive return requests... has Hot Toys gone form "0 to 60" too quickly with the quality suffering because so? are they delivering the Vader we deserve? the Han we deserve? at these prices, do they assume too much (or too little) of us? send the unsatisfactory product back... demand refunds... let SS become a holding company for half assed made toys. it is in our hands.

I would hope SS then cancel the accounts and ban those people.

Thanks for clarifying and being helpful. I really appreciate it. Hopefully some in hand pics show up before our orders ship so we have time to cancel or keep order.

Is this the profile shot? That looks alot better than the SDCC pics imo. Actually he looks great in all the promo pics. If prod-fig turns out that good i'll be happy.

No denying he looks pretty good, there, though. Actually not minding the profile so much with his hair futzed and laying flatter than the figure used in the MF cockpit.
