Well, one of them is the same lousy Chewbacca they've been tramping around for over a year to show after show. Maybe this just tells us that the hair color will fade -- seems to be getting darker -- and the hair is thinning on the face from constant brushing so the muzzle is becoming more noticeable.

I don't know what to make of the other Chewbacca. Looks like a reject attempt. If its production, then I'm sad.

I'm sure I can work with the fur... but not if it comes out in clumps.

I doubt the hair comes out that easily. Now if it does, they have a QC nightmare on their hands (and Sideshow will have a field day with exchanges and returns).

There's always...

If that were it's only problem....

Means they can't fix it.
Or it just means its hard to manufacture. I can imagine how difficult it must be to make a figure that's covered in rooted hair and making it come out good, especially making the face look right. Especially mass producing and distributing a figure like that can't be easy. Not that I'm making excuses for Hot Toys but I still think they deserve credit for even making the attempt. I'm sure if Sideshow would have done Chewie he'd have been sculpted.

Well my 2 cents worth is that it's a good thing that they did such a good job on the cockpit so that you look at that and not the figures.

Going by the current pics I'll wait and decide on Chewbacca last minute. Han looks off too, last minute decision will be made on him as well. Won't be preordering either.

Chewie just doesn't have that massive jaw that they've sculpted, needs darker eye sockets and some more tint and colour variations in the fur.

From the bridge of his nose up looks pretty good but the muzzle is kind of killing it for me. Gonna be a tough call whether to accept the issues with these two as the best Han and Chewie around or cancel and hope for more definitive versions for ESB. If they take a bath on Chewie, maybe they won't bother with a second version, though. Hmmm.

Tricky balance, we need to buy this one to ensure they make another one, but it can't sell too well otherwise they might not feel the need to improve it on a second try.

Still don't understand why the muzzle sticks out more than the proto. If there are enough okay production pics when these are close to release I'll assume that I can get it to look okay on the shelf. I was so bummed when we saw those first SDCC pics, but I've seen a few decent pics interspersed since to give me a sliver of hope. :yess:

I'm sure if they had issues making this version they probably won't be eager to make another unless this one sells really well.

I agree. Im pretty sure I'll be passing on Chewie, but I'm afraid this will be it for him and I'll be stuck without a Chewie. No way I'll ever pay over retail in the future.

Chances are pretty good that they will make another Chewie though. At the very least they'll have to make a TFA version. So I'll try not to give in to my fear of this being the only Chewie to be made.

At this point its too late for me to consider cancelling as I have him basically paid off except one payment but I still think he's looking decent. Maybe not a homerun, knocked it out of the park likeness but also not so terrible that I don't think its worth having either.

We'll probably see him again if this one sells well (enough) and if people are vocal about their dissatisfaction (whether warranted - or not) he may even be revised/changed. At the very least you'll be able to wait until people have it in hand.

I just force his mouth down with a hammer if needed. Lookes like he's holding his puke in
