Tricky balance, we need to buy this one to ensure they make another one, but it can't sell too well otherwise they might not feel the need to improve it on a second try.

:yess:

As long as this has decent sales, they will have enough motivation to rerelease him for TFA, hopefully with improvements.

Also remember this is going to have an entirely new true type body. HT will want to get as much use out of it as they can and Chewbacca is the only character it works for.

Where did you get those letters? I can't seem to find any small enough for the stands.

I've got a box downstairs that's full of letters of all sizes, both white and black. After pressing a few keys and clicking a few things on my computer, a piece of paper comes out of the box with the letters on it. ;) hehehe

Those are awesome! Where did you get those letters? I can't seem to find any small enough for the stands.

EvilFace does a lot of these Jim, check out his thread. His custom decals etc are fantastic. He supplies vinyl name cutouts as well as logo's for the bases. Those stands look like his work.

What is c7? Yeah he looks fine in those pictures, I'm looking at my DX07 Luke and thinking he could do with a shelf buddy.

Some more Chewie photos form ACGHK yesterday. Hot Toys had multiple copies of him in different sets, so I only took a few shots here and there. Hope you guys like em!

Can't think of another figure I've got such mixed feelings about. Might be easier if Solo were a homerun, then he'd sort of elevate the set and make it easier to accept any issues with Chewie, but I'm very ambivalent at this point with his sculpt, too. Still holding out for good in-hand pics.

I think the mouth area looks fine straight on. It's more in profile shots that it sticks out.
Yeah, getting that impression, too. Pretty sure I'd only pose him in a straight ahead position with Solo, so maybe it won't be that big of an issue in-hand.

I like to get my Star Wars bases signed by the actor and I just found out Peter Mayhew will be in Ireland in October. I cannot wait to meet him and get a stand base signed. Be nice to have my Chewie figure by then as I could get the box signed too.

He was in South Florida earlier this month. Poor guy didn't move from his seat the whole time that he was there.

And thanks for the pics, KNL01! Chewie is still a mixed bag. He looks ok in the cockpit but that profile shot looks awful.

I'm probably just hoping for the best, but futzing is definitely part of the problem. They keep brushing the hair under his muzzle, tight against his neck, instead of letting it hang a little looser like a beard (as someone pointed out earlier in the thread somewhere). In doing so, it not only looks odd, but it accentuates the shape and size of the muzzle. If they let the hair/beard hang a little, that alone would help the overall look of the sculpt.

I still have my pre-order on, and my fingers crossed....

I met Dave Prowse earlier this year and he was the same. In his chair the whole time, I guess time is taking its toll on our childhood actors.

Yeah he's not looking that bad at all to be honest. I'm just thinking it might be a long time before they bring another version out. Does bacca look that much different in force awakens? I must admit a chewy with a broken up C3PO in a bag on his shoulder would be an instant buy.
