Got my Chewie today. Even with the few flaws it has i still haven't had such a buzz from collecting as posing this figure up in a long time. It really is an outstanding piece in hand. Hair is not too difficult to style and is something I have really tried to avoid with past figures. Chewie just needs a little bit and it really does make all the difference. My vote for figure of the year. This is sure to bring a smile to all but the very pickiest of collectors.

Lucky you. Austpost tracking still has mine in Geelong. Australia post is the worst. I've had stuff shipped from Melbourne, California and Tokyo all on the same day with the stuff from Melbourne arriving days after the rest.

Aus post is laughable. Let me guess Popcultcha?
Yeah, aus post don't even attempt to deliver stuff to me lately, and just leave a collection slip even if I was home all day...
Poor customer service really!

Got my Chewie replacement head (on the left) today. Unfutzed. But thought I'd post the slight color variation. Definitely lighter. There was so much less glue on this one. To pull out the hair from the chin it took me 30 seconds to a minute, whereas the previous Chewie was so stiff under the chin that it took 10 minutes plus a little bit of water.

Yep, the 2nd run heads are lighter.

Did you get that directly thru Sideshow? Did you just say your Chewbacca head was too dark? I don't understand how people are getting replacement heads.

Wow, nice to finally see some undeniable proof of what people have been suspecting!

I can't remember anymore what my Chewie originally looked like, but I suspect it was probably more like your replacement head than the other one.

People are returning the heads because of color? Did I miss something?

I got direct from Sideshow (had a single).

Mine had a knotted hard piece of black glue/probably the under structure that holds his fur that's right next to his nose on the left cheek. Couldn't be combed out. Can sort of see it on the first photo but it doesn't photograph well.

New Chewie isn't perfect as his right eye is a little bit crossed eyed compared with my first one, but what can you do, most seem a bit like that anyhow. Also has that forehead indent that someone else mentioned having, but maybe not as bad.

And here it is after some futzing. I specifically asked Sideshow for just the head and mentioned that it's indeed removable as I saw they were shipping bodies to some people.

^^No mods. Just pushed it down against his shoulder a little bit maybe. In this pose I was trying to make him as tall as possible as I was switching him to the shorter stand and figured he could fit in the detolf like that.

Hot Toys next Stormtrooper variant.

You can move his eyes and fix that cross eye thing they are on rods, just wedge something inside and move a little.

:duff I may try that. I have to smash the old one so I'll experiment to get the hang of it beforehand.

But look how worse the snout is on the replacement? It's out much further. Personally I think the one on the right looks a lot better.

It explains the second one I got, they are just all different. I saw a US release Chewie in Forbidden Planet in NYC yesterday and it was even darker than the two I have seen so far? Batches? :dunno
