I couldn't be happier with this purchase. And I'm an ***** who cancelled my preorder, lost an NRD, and then reordered. One of the critical things to get him looking right is slightly wetting and pulling out that chin hair. As far as the rest of his portrait, I was surprised how well these hair fibers can be manipulated and stay in place. Not only my favorite 1:6 figure but one of my favorite SW collectibles thus far! I've never been pleased with how any high-end Chewie has looked until now.

High praise! Mine arrives tomorrow, so looking forward to checking it out. Amazing how good/bad this figure can look, depending on how it's futzed.

Re: Hot Toys - MMS 262 - Star Wars Episode IV - 1/6th scale Chewbacca Collectible...

I used a thumb tack to get a broken peg out of one of the hands for Han. Just pulled the other broken part of the peg out of the wrist.
I can't seem to get it so I emailed Sideshow. Aside from that issue Chewie is an awesome figure. I futzed around with it for quite a while trying to get the hair right. Not sure if it's the greatest but it looks better than straight out of the package. Managed to get the hair pulled away from the chin area to give him the more bearded look.

Same here. both hand and chewie arriving tuesday :) alteregocomics is kinda slow with my obi-wan though. still hasn't shipped.

Mine

Cheers :)

Nicely done. That is almost exactly how my set up is as well (Ikea?). Unfortunately, due to space, I've had to cram sometimes 4 figures into one section. I'm going to upgrade to some all glass upper half doors which I found so that I can have a better view of the figures....

Yeah, wanted something a bit tidier than detolfs

If I didn't have my avengers display in a dedicated case I'd have more crammed in too. Hoping to get some Bestas at the side of the room early next year for some of the larger bits

Posted my $0.02 about Han. Now it's Chewies turn. This will go down as one of my favorite figures ever....and I'm not even a huge fan of the character. This guy is in Tamashii C-3PO territory on my amazing meter. Yes, it's dark in the face, blah blah. Pistons too big, blah, blah. Minor issues in the overall designs. I have a metal C-3PO with light up eyes and real abdomen wires and I have a fully articulated, hairy Chewbacca that looks like Chewbacca and not a fluffy chew toy for a dog like Hasbro's effort. Whatever "hair" they used is genius. It's soft. It hangs great. Has wavy variations, color variations. You can style it, put it back the way it was. It's fantastic. Not perfect mind you, but amazing design, just like 3PO. My only mods are pulling out the foot pegs till they just click to give it a tad extra height, and I lightened his face with chalk. Looks great on the shelf. Even the wife was impressed at how real it looked. These 2 examples remind me that as much as they are action figures (or dolls), they are pieces of art that took someone some doing to figure them out and pull it off in manufacturing. Very pleased with this purchase.

My chewie has landed. He is now in the UK! Woohoo! Hopefully I will have him this weekend.

Couldn't be happier with this set. Chewie is just amazing. Didn't futz Chewie too much or put makeup on him to this point. Nothing too fancy right now in my display. But these are my favorite figures I've gotten in a while.
