Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Then be prepared to be severely disappointed. :lol This isn't the All-In-One Darth Vader MMS figure. It's ANH Vader and all there is to be included is hands and his lightsaber. There won't be anything else. Why on earth would he come with a droid, sculpt and Luke's saber? He's going to be bareboned and that's all he needs to be. At the very least I hope that brings his price down.

Oh no i wouldnt be let down this is a dream of mine i know theres no chance lol

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

I want sound (good sound not ed 209) a ton of hands two sabers, unmasked sculpt, base, droid, a green luke saber, ( i know its ANH but still want it. Pretty much what sideshow made plus a little more.

I never understood the fascination with the unmasked sculpt. It worked for one scene at the end of ROTJ(technically ESB to, but only the back) to convey emotion and show what had become of Anakin. I am a Vader snob and self proclaimed Vader expert... But why would you display a figure with the reveal head? It is the saddest, weakest iteration of Vader and usually needs explanation as to what it is(to anyone unfamiliar). Vader IS the mask period. It sets the mood for his character, and no prequel retcon garbage that Anakin was Vader before the mask. That was made up years later by GL. I just don't get it.

I have my Mythos Vader for that, and for that story it fits perfectly, but I would never pose a figure with the unmasked sculpt either.

Yup.

I do a repose 1 to every 2 months. It keeps me from getting bored with my figures. It not going to be used in the first second third or even tenth pose i put him in. But eventually its coming out.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

It's an ANH Vader. I would be shocked if he, or the 2-pack, didn't come with the interrogation droid. At the very least it will be the exclusive!

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Me too man, love the rough, dirty looking ANH Vader. That Vader looked like he was always ready for a fight and wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty. Going out in a single fighter to kill rebels only made him more threatening and just plain cool. This was a guy that actually looked like he could hunt down some Jedi and kill them or whatever other nasty work that he may have gotten up to in the early years of the Empire.

As much as I love Vader from Empire and Jedi, and I really do, he seemed like more like a guy that had been promoted to a cushy government office job with a nice fat paycheque but had to spend most of his time managing underlings. "T-rex doesn't want to be fed, he wants to hunt.."

:exactly: :lecture

Wait... all three of these are Darth Vader? They look SO different.:lol

As big a SW fan as I am, until a year or two ago I didn't really notice any differences other than the cape over the armor.:slap

And now it's like "ANH version is so much better than ESB"...

Never said it ANH was better, just that it's my favorite look because he doesn't look like he just got out of a factory/lab...or wherever they made him . :(

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

I would love an interrogation droid, but that seems like a rather large item for an exclusive, consider the Stormtroopers had a cheap gun rack.

Agreed on everything but the interrogator droid. He's in the cell with Leia and the droid in one of the most iconic scenes in SW. It's a big miss, IMO, if the droid is excluded.

Hear, hear! Unmasked sculpt has no place in ANH. I also do not want this release larded up with useless extras that were not in the film.

Wouldn't happen as a Sideshow exclusive but would be fine as the HT 2-pack exclusive.

I guess for me knowing the sculpt is under there would just make me happy inside.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

I agree -- the mask IS Vader. I would never pose him without it.

That said, like many "extras", I would like to have a separated reveal helmet, just to have. It would go nicely in the box that holds exclusives likes Jango's head, the Emperor's extra head, Bossk's extra head, and others. :lol

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

I think that an unmasked sculpt with the ANH version would be a complete waste and excessive. I would prefer way more pack-ins than that.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

The exclusive should be a complete Raymus Antilles figure. With double-secret exclusive "Help, he's breaking my neck!" hands. :lecture
