1/6 Hot Toys - MMS 279 - Star Wars Episode IV: 1/6th scale Darth Vader

I dont know it doesnt seem like he is havinbg them try their hardest though, most im's look good on the proto and come out the same or better. This didnt even look good on the proto and i just feel if they are doing vader who practically IS SW they should be trying a lot damn harder!

Guess we have to wait and see what, if any improvements were made with the final piece.

HT is good, probably the best 1:6 company on the market, but they aren't perfect. No company will be. But here's what I know.

Hot Toys has the Star Wars License.

They are making some of, if not, the best mass produced 1:6 figures this market has ever seen. I mean did we ever imagine we would have a fully furred and haired Chewbacca on our shelves one day??? It's a great time to be a Star Wars fan and collector!

And that's good enough for me.

I dunno, replace the stupidly oversized body with a HT muscle body, and replace the cape, and it actually looks pretty good. Not saying there isn't room for improvement, but def not horrible.

Agreed. Most of the bashes with lforgino's capes, body mod/switch and the hasbro dome still kick butt over the HT Vader.

Not saying a custom figure isn't the answer, but damn.. the whole thing is just frustrating.

No big deal and expected, but Sideshow now shows Oct-Nov instead of Sept for release.

Yep, my final flex was pushed to October 25th.

I thought I read somewhere that they worked on the height on this figure and that it wasnt gonna be oversized like the SS vaders have been....

It did look like that in the pictures from SDCC(or was it a later convention?).

Hopefully this means Vader will drop in the next week or two in HK. The the fun will really begin! Cue the angst!

Yeah - the big question... will they look like Vader and Kenobi? Currently we have a McQ Vader variant and an old guy with a beard.

What!? This got pushed too. Is it all the TFA stuff? Might get pushed back into 2016 so HT can get the Ducktrooper into kids hands for Xmas (Disney order).

I didn't even replace the dome.

My cape/robe set cost $40. I did the body mod myself. I already had the hasbro dome (which Flosi dremeled down for me) which vost me $5.

It cost me $45.
