Odd, in those new pics it looks like the face mask is all black with some silver highlights/weathering...
I really am looking forward to in hand pics once this is released.

Quick question for the experts: what type of boots were used in the movie for the Vader costume?
I ask because I was wondering if it wouldn't be feasible to use some of the tall WWII german soldier boots with the shin guards attached...

They were custom calf riding boots for ANH and Empire, I believe the Empire boots were from a boutique called Horace Batten.

edit: Confirmed for Empire.

My Scout Trooper reward points finally kicked in so I spent my rewards stash on this figure and paid the princely sum of $2.29. Yeah he has some issues based off proto and show pics so far but what figure doesn't? I'm confident he will look great in hand and when Hot Toys revisits Vader it won't be for an ANH version.

I also grabbed an extra single Stormtrooper to display next to him. If anyone is still looking for singles the price at Popcultcha is $206.13USD. Not sure what shipping is to the US but that price seems well below what people are quoting for the single in the Stormtrooper thread.

Nah, that's from Sideshow direct. Popcultcha rewards max out at $50AUD or 10% of order value (depending on number of points used). But $50 off every now and then also helps.

Just shy of 6000 points. That's all my points for orders shipped after May 2013 (when I used the points I had then on the Harley Quinn PF).

The order screen reduced the NRD down to the 2.29 outstanding.

Now what will I spend the 2 points I earn on this item on...

The Force broke my will last night. I had said I was staying out of Star Wars. Marvel and DC were enough for me.

I used my reward points at Sideshow and ordered Vader for $230 shipped. But I will be strong and only get Jedi or Sith. And maybe some troopers.....

I will probably get Kylo Ren next. I am waiting for ROTJ Luke and if I get Obi Wan, I want young Obi Wan. I will get a Finn, but I really want to see how his look evolves before I make that call. Like if I get E7 version and he's in like Jedi Robes in E8, I will be most unhappy.

As cool as the new movie looks i am tapping out on those figures. I am sticking to the classics.
