1/6 Hot Toys - MMS 279 - Star Wars Episode IV: 1/6th scale Darth Vader

With so much reference material out there, there is no excuse to not get this vader to look right. I mean my god how many times is vader going to be done in 1/6 scale before we get one that looks right?

Ask the Joker or Terminator.

well the Legend one..... It is sad they cannot get it right there is a bunch of helms that show such good distinctness of the ANH lid.

Agreed. A shrunken down EFX would be incredible. I stop and stare at mine every chance I get it is really an art piece to me. I know there is a lot of love for the SL, but I really dig the EFX.

Star Wars a new hope is 37 years old , they are the #1 company for making movie accurate high dollar figures , one would think hot toys could tell the difference between all 4 versions , especially with free resources out there like TheRPF.com and even now with their access to Lucas archives through their Licensing with Disney

$299.99 for a very inaccurate Darth Vader advertised as A NEW HOPE is extremely disappointing

The EFX helmet is a great chance for SSC or HT to make a good Vader helmet. And there are a couple others they could use too. Remember SSC used Portumac recast for for the 1:1 Vader bust.
But I kind of doubt they will do it

I'm torn. I have my deluxe Vader. I'm considering selling it in favor of this. A lot of it really is the height. Some of it is the saber arm. But I do like the Sideshow one a lot. Hard to decide.

I just that last week. I just refer the feel of Hot Toys and I think theirs will better despite what folks say.

Thanks for the pics. For the first time you can really see that they did put a lot of effort into replicating the rougher paint work of the a new hope vader. And I see red tinted lenses too. Like I said I think once this thing gets lovingly futzed and photographed by one of our own, it's going to look great!

those gloves are terrible just terrible


the helmet is to glossy as well as the chest armor

i just hope its tweaked a bit more, before its shipped out , im still going to preorder regardless

I think it looks great. The gloves look fine to me and in those pictures it looks like the upper glove section isn't properly futzed.

I get a slight Macquarrie vibe from this one any time it's shown at cons. Can't wait to see in-hand pics, especially with some of the other HT figures.
