As cool as this figure definitely is:
isn't anyone besides me bothered by the way too fast breathing sound???
To be honest I can't stand it and it somehow ruins the sound feature the SSC Deluxe Vader was so extremely missing... :/

Went to my LCS to see if they had Luke but they were sold out... They had Vader so...

Using a Medicom base for the Droid, much better than the crappy HT one, what a joke!

Great pictures!

They had Vader at my LCS also when I was there over the weekend and acquired the last Obi-Wan.

From my experience, there are only a few figures in my collection that can handle dynamic poses for long periods of time without warping or damaging the suit. Even my MoS Superman has been affected by the hovering pose I've had him in for barely a year.

That said, loosely clothed figures are normally the safest. From what I can tell, The Hot Toys Vader has room for the kind of poses he would take naturally.

Awesome news. Thank you! So disappointing how quickly my other Vader's suit frayed after a little posing.

Not to outright bash Medicom, but I've had my share of their figures through the years. I used to swear by them, but those things are NOT meant to last.

I'm amazed my Chun Li, SSJ Goku and Jack Sparrow have lasted this long. Everything else has become damaged or broken.

For those of you who have both, what's the consensus on upgrading to HT if you already have the SSC version? (ANH vs ESB/ROTJ aside)

My wallet and the backlash from the wife says no, but the pics posted here and the OT Hot Toys completist in me says Yes! I've been going back and forth on this and I don't mind sleeping on the sofa for a few nights if the HT version is worth it. At least I get to look at it more!

HT is a huge upgrade, IMO. Just a phenomenal figure

I've run the risk of upgrading only the head. Read earlier in this thread that it will require a lot of modding? I hope not.

I had the SSC Deluxe already and modded it with SSC ANH Bodysuit and custom SSC ANH boots, to make him look better and be a tad smaller, so another big investment was out of the possibilities. I just got the head then.

I'm not Mr. Paramoremcr88 but I believe he may have used invisible thread. Several people have done a similar display and I remember seeing the thread in at least one pic.

Found it:

Thanks or the tip FlyAndFight: One roll of Merlin invisible dark smoke thread has just been ordered (My Vader will be displayed in a dark cabinet with led lights much like paramores) and thanks to Mr Paramoremcr88: for the inspiration!

sorry only now I see my pic of Jedi Luke... this was some other member's idea, I just copied it. But I used a real head hair, my wife's, to do the trick. No special thread lol.

Quick question, I'm thinking of getting myself a backdrop for my detolf to display behind vader and Luke. Has anyone ever had a backdrop in a detolf? Are they any good? I'm worried about it looking cheap or any kind of glare my dioder lights might give off.
Any help would be appreciated :)

Does anyone know where I can buy just the head please. My seller is not being very helpful.

I think you must insist with your seller for a replacement if anything is wrong with your Vader's head. Insist with them, and tell them you can report to Hot Toys if they do not cooperate :impatient:

I would contact Hot Toys if they don't give you a replacement, send them your invoice of the full figure.

If you just want to get the head for an upgrade, the best place is Toy Anxiety. Maybe Black Ops Toys also list it soon. Other than that, you have to wait for a reasonable price to show on Ebay, and I would say you will not be able to get it for less than 100 bucks.

Cheers,

Vader arrived today and he looks stunning.
The interrogator droid base is cheap and horibble though.
Do the boots pivot easily left to right as they seem to be slanted?

It came out great! Love the effect. May give it a try as well. Thanks!
