Are you guys sure that the HT version doesn't have the red lenses, some of these fantastic pics look like the lens are tinted somehow :dunno

If you shine a light directly at a certain angle to the lens it does have a dark red hint to it. For sure its not all black.

Paramore, I really dig that: The would-be heir to the throne next to his grandfather, whom he idolizes!

So, I got my Vader in the mail yesterday. It's gorgeous. The helmet! That cape! The size! The detail! The... Vader-ificence!

I haven't taken any photos yet, but I originally posed Vader akin to this 'en garde' pose from SW:

...before settling upon (for the time-being, at least) the image of the first time we ever saw Darth Vader with his lightsaber:

Standing as I have him -- between an HT Stormie and the SS Boba -- this Darth Vader sure looks darned impressive.

Though I have to admit, I think it's time for me to look to investing in some other way of displaying my figures. As things sit right now, my modest 1/6 collection is presented together on a couple of all-black, wooden bookcases. Which makes, say, the aforementioned Stormtrooper look fantastic. But Vader...? He's having some difficulty standing out.

But the figure, itself? I'm very happy with my purchase. Other than the issues with the electronics many have detailed, my only minor (minor!) quibble would be that I'd have preferred an even more matte finish on the helmet.

I once heard someone break down Vader's three OT helmets this way:

"ANH - Combat / ESB - Command / ROTJ - Ceremonial"

And you know, I like that. I can see where that fan was left with this impression, and I guess I was hoping for an even gnarlier-looking bucket.

But that's me actively seeking something to criticize. It's a lovely, lovely piece.

Yes, and my Vader has this film residue on the lenses.

Can someone shine a cell phone light on their Vader and tell me if mine is "weathered" or sloppy?

Everything about this figure just oozes ANH Vader. The finish, the detail, etc. Absolutely love him in the "I find your lack of faith disturbing" pose.

I may have to steal that pose......if not for the gloves, that almost looks like a movie still...

Thanks very much! I actually got the idea from KoruptData when in addition to pictures of the Luke figure, he posted a picture showing his entire SW collection in the ANH Luke thread. I just bent Vader's upper body forward ever so slightly and tilted it a little to the side to more resemble as best as I could the way he looked in the film when he was doing the force choke in that particular scene.

The gloves are definitely my least favorite aspect of the figure. They're adequate though.

Yeah, the gloves are ok - not sure why they didnt just make the gloves in two pieces, but sculpted as gloves - just weird. And yeah, its the lean that really sells it. Nice job!

Thanks, man! Totally agree regarding the gloves.

I bought some extra stands from TA and I think they help with the overall display and the interrogation droid.

But I've decided my Vader is depressed. Does this not look like a case of the sads?

Maybe he got depressed after I took pics of him with his old lightsabre that he cut off his son's hand for...

Nice, Momaw! I have extra stands to do a similar set up, that looks great.
And that last photo. :drool

Nice pose, SilverStar! When I first saw the photo on my phone it looked like the helmet was huge and it made me think of Dark Helmet. :lol Then I realized it was just the extra helmet part from the box behind the figure. :slap

Thanks. I grabbed a couple for Han and Chewie too, but my Chewie is so dark I don't like showing pics. I need to do something about that. I also bought some extra Sandtrooper stands - one each for Farmboy Luke, Old Ben, R2D2 and C3PO.

Got mine the other day. I haven't had a chance to have a good play, or power up the electronics (due to my busy work schedule - you know, the one that allows me to "afford" these ridiculously expensive figures...), but loved what I've seen so far! I love the helmet and the cape - but those hands! Way too small, and the gloves just don't work for me. I'm happy enough though, and can't wait to pose him properly! Also, couldn't get any side-to-side rock in his ankles - though I haven't been able to have a proper look. Is this unusual?
