Got mine earlier and after futzing with it, I'm really happy with it and happy I sold the SSC version. I look forward to the ESB/ROTJ version with the shiny helmet and tunic under the breastplate.

Guys I think this Hot Toys Vader is really good.

I think it if you mod it or you dont you will still be happy with him aside from the sound issues.

It really only fails in value for money , it would be better if he came with as much stuff as the SSC Deluxe

When the SS Vader came out at $250, I just couldn't do it. I get like a $70 customs hit if it breaks $260 including shipping.
I found a HT one locally though...

The circle is now complete.

I felt like I made a mistake by doing so, but after having it for a day I don't regret it at all. I'm no expert, but I even tell the accuracy is much better than previously seen figures, at least in regards to ANH.

Did everyone's nameplate on their stand not come attached like mine? When I saw that I assumed it was broken since Obi Wan's wasn't that way, but I was able to snap it into place.

That's a good question, Snake. My Vader is still processing at Sideshow, but I can say the nameplates on the base of the stands for this series are meant to be removable. Then, you can line up several bases to create a grated floor for posing multiple figures on. I'm not sure why it was already detached though.

I don't think I really looked through Obi Wan's instructions, but on Vader's it clearly showed that the plate was able to be removed. Why that would be needed, I couldn't tell you. I wouldn't worry though, with a little finesse you can get it to click into place and it feels really sturdy that it won't fall off.

So happy I was able to do that since I already just request replacement parts for Returns Batman.

Really? Hmmm... You can just turn the stand so the name plate is in the back... Strange they would make removable plates a feature.

Here on the bottom left of Chewie's instructions, there is a picture of several bases making a solid floor:

They come off so you can do this if you want. But I don't know how someone would get that many Vader stands. These are the stormtrooper ones.
