Yeah, but it's far too slim so it would probably have to be some sort of mix, I guess that was my unclear point. There are better bodies to use as a starting point I would think.

When I tried I was using the SS body suit though, don't think I ever tried with the HT suit.

For those hesitant to do mods, I'd say this: do the repaint chest one and pull the belt boxes closer, and you've made a huge impact on the ANH look.

For those that brave the dome/helmet mod: learn from me and my $600 finger injury using an Xacto on 4 hours sleep = dremmel is your friend with the sanding down on the inside of the dome. I've personally cracked open two helmets from the dome. First time was terrifying. 2nd time not so much, but slow and steady. Be very careful handling the helmet anywhere near the tusks - they are very fragile. And not easy to replace if you break one, or lose one.

Did you Repaint with an Airbrush or by with a hand brush?

Yep, I've done and noticed the same. Always try to get new paint or keep your's fresh for such an important paint app. I definitely will practice on something before I give it a go. Did you use blake matte for the portion that's not gun metal?

There's no need to repaint the black portions, they are already pretty accurate.

Thank you! So just spray a little matte finish over the chest armor after applying gun metal?

I used a few layers. gun metal base, then matt black washes LIGHTLY till it got to the quality I liked.

Wow! That's a great shot. Out in the light like that it really makes him look real....real, very, very real.

I just got mine today. I did the belt mod, moved the cod piece up and that's about it so far....i'm haven't futzed him properly and probably won't take any pics until I do the mod so the arms can hang to the side better. I really do love this thing out of the box though. I have to say that of all the figures I have ever purchased this is the one figure that looks good right out of the box with a very good likeness. HT did and INCREDIBLE job on this.....IMHO.

Hot Toys werent That far off , heres a snap of the real Vader Suit from ANH .

By the way some of these mods and customs look terrific and I would say most of us have done them now. But why do people forget to repaint the chest buttons to dark grey ? I hot toys suit was pretty spot on , my only complaint would be its not wrinkly enough LOL. ps the shin guards are gloss black , allthough 501st does recommend semi gloss black
