Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Kinda like 89 Batman and the Returns Batman with that horrible vertical blinds armor......

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Getting there, but the pic of the HT is looking down an lit up under the dome. Vader is ALL about the angle you look at him. He is meant to be viewed from below looking up. I can show you pics of my efX Legend and SL helmets from that angle in that light and you would all say they are not accurate... And they are as close as you can get to screen used. Wait for the official specs and pics... Or the 1/4 will translate better.

Do you have any information what movie the 1:4 will be from? I was really hoping for ESB or ROTJ.

Thank you kindly, bud. Have a Vader Beer, on me.

Any plans on picking up either the Rainman Caretaker or the Nakatomi Cop?

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

I always though HT has wanted to make ROTS Vader

Ooh my favourite! However it's technically a Kenobi beer though as it's a Guinness. ;)

I was in the running for a fullset Caretaker but just playing catch up in the thread, (only got back from hols an hour or so ago), and I am concerned over ther new arrangement. You?

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

I'm dissapointed by the hot toys vader. At first glance i was finally. Then, 'His nose is miss piggy like'.

Best,

Robert

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

They need to lose that nose insert. Makes it look like a Rubies Supreme. Also, the ANH nose isn't silver, it's gunmetal.

.

Yeah that silver nose insert is quite the eyesore. If that were removed completely and the inner nose switched to gunmetal, eye sockets painted black on the inside. The likeness would get way better. It's the little things like that that throw the prototype off. But it is a good start. ;)

Nah, I'm a noob when it comes to high-end customs, I'm completely unfamiliar with the process. Apparently you have to have a membership/be in good standing to even get a crack at securing one of these figures, am I reading that right? Maybe one day. :lol

I wish you the best of luck on the RM "Shinning" stuff. :lol I'll live vicariously through the pics and vids of those who score them. ;)

Actually aren't vaders nose and billets (at least one for anh) the only parts that are supposed to be bright silver?
And darker gunmetal reserved for the various facets of his face...all officially licensed vaders, props included, have silver noses n billets even if no gunmetal applied to the face.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

I just read this vader will have fx light up chest n breathing and possible light up saber from fb hot toys ceo Howard i read. I dont need sound AT ALL ! I'll take light up saber n chest if done correct otherwise just pick up a lit up saber from a modder on here in forum. I wish they would light up the new starwars stands in red or white would be cool.

The tusks are steel, similar to the grills in the mouth opening and chin vent.

The ANH nose isn't silver. That's simply because most people are used to the ESB and RotJ look.

Different to the later movies too is the fact that the left (right when looking at the helmet from the front) side cheek area on the ANH is grey instead of black.

Ooooh! And here I always thought it was just darker in the Anh pics I've seen....that explains why the mcq vaders nose is not silver, it was never the original intent! Thx for the info :)

Never liked the silver nose he got in Empire. Made him look silly until I got used to it.
