Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Is that true? I've never seen HT stuff show in that kind of layout.

Interrogation droid AND light-stuff makes me happy. But it seems too good to be true.

Just like any "leaked info", best taken with a grain of salt. That's why I tried not to add words of my own when I shared the post and directly quoted the OP's post on OSR Facebook, even if he claims that it's from the same guy who first told him QS003 will be Boba (prior to the leaked Boba teaser, I suppose).

So we're not calling this silver on the nose in ANH? It's gun metal?

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

All Darth Vader figures look the same to me :monkey3

Me too. I guess I'm just not that OCD about it. I had the SS ANH version. Loved it. Then they announced the Deluxe version so I sold it and bought the Deluxe. Love it. Now HT's is showing theirs and although there are settle differences they aren't really deal breakers for me. I don't know. Maybe I'm easy to please on a figure with no head sculpt.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

any idea what is the estimate price for HT vader?

If we want to get completely technical about it then ANH Vader wasn't two-toned. He was black with gunmetal highlights and the cover of that varied greatly to the point of the black shining through in most areas. The whole was meant to read as black to most viewers, but they had to highlight it to make it show up on camera, which is why nearly all black surfaces of the face mask, chestarmor and shoulder bells have gunmetal highlights in varying degrees - even on the "black" areas - and it wasn't until ESB and RotJ that they actually went with a full covering two-tone scheme. The nose is a closed semi-circle that bounces the light back much easier than the other planes. In fact, as you can see in the picture, the nose is the same grey color as the lit up area on the cheek. If it was silver like ESB and RotJ it would be much shinier than the tusk tip and you can easily distinguish it as silver from the rest of the gunmetal on the helmet and armor.

Check all your ESB reference and compare it to ANH to see the difference. Never once will you see this difference on the ANH.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

Yeah, Vader was a total bruiser in ANH. :lol :rock

The best look he had. The mask and low dome with the widows peak made him look so evil and pissed off. The dings and scratches all over the suit, Vader looked ****ed up in SW. :lol

And he flew his own TIE fighter. :rock

SW Vader > All other Vaders.

SW Vader > All other Vaders.

Up until very recently I'd have named ANH and ANH Vader as favourites, but this has shifted to ESB.

Vader was a total badass in ANH but he was a more well-rounded villain in ESB with some great one-liners, and he straight up *schooled* that punk kid Luke. ;)

...and how awkward was that Cloud City dinner party?? :D

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

I'm not super impressed with anything I've seen from HT here so I am most likely just keeping my SS with an ilforigno cape and lowered dome as my Vader. I still love that figure even though it has its flaws, but I'm not much of a stickler for the height inaccuracies either as much as some. Besides, so far this HT version has its own height problems as well as some other problems that just don't scream to me like I need the upgrade. I felt the same way about the SS Vader 2.0.

The money saved might now be going to a Tauntaun as I'm really loving the idea of that. :)

Bespin dinner party would make a great diorama.

Re: Hot Toys Darth Vader Sixth Scale Figure

I hope it all gets revealed soon because I am going to order either this one or Sideshows I just want to see for sure how HT does.
