even in the movie I always thought tarkin looked pretty tall next to vader

Yeah, in the pics I saw, seems like the top of Tarkin's head pretty much comes up to the lower/middle of Vader's eye lenses (so taller than an average stormie) and the top of Leia's head is just below Tarkin's chin.

So not quite Veers height (who is eye-to-eye with Vader,) but pretty tall.

Man so what do you freaks think about all the people that did so much customizing on this piece only for HT to come out with a better version with Tarkin

Be honest :dunno

No offense , but I think it was a little overboard

I am glad they fixed the LED lightsaber problem, especially because I deduced they would.

In the LED department, they only must fix the chest box now (don't make us buy old Sideshow chest boxes, Hot Toys!!!). Don't you guys think?

More problems left to solve (according to Michael Crawford et alt):

1) Metal chain on the cape, instead of plastic.

2) Visibility problems with the chain (occluded by neck armor).

3) The greaves problem (even I have read diverging opinions about it on this thread).

4) Wired robe and cape (or not?).

5) Translucent eye lenses.

6) Shiny vs not-shiny helmet (what should it actually be??).

7) Cheapo flightsuit on Vader RO(?).

8) Accessories: here is hoping for a perfect ROTJ release: accurate Sebastian Shaw, accurate electronic stub.

9) Any contribution/wishes anybody?

---

Some questions now for tue good, knowledgeable people around here:

1) From the marketing material to ANH Vader, one would think the cape has a wire, when it is only the inner robe that has one. Or does the cape also have a wire?

2) Some people have removed the wires. What's he problem with it?

3) Must the cape (and/or inner robe) have an inner, silky lining for accuracy?

4) Does anybody fully understand the nose plug problem? Has it been fixed with today's release?

Thanks,
m.

But they took the voice features out of this new version..doesn't that bother you :dunno

Wasn't it an anti-feature, according to Michael Crawford?
Something you wouldn't end up using, anyway. I would be gald if they had improved it, for sure, but well......
On top of that, even if the implementation had been flawless... I can't picture myself using it a lot in the long run, even with the remote control...

So well, yeah, I'm slightly bothered, but I hope for more improvements though. Chest box must light up. Extras (like Shaw's head, even hidden within a removable helmet) can be much more useful than the sound feature and they must outweigh it.

Regards,
m.

Plus sound features are a one use only gimmick. Boring, plus they inevitably sound rubbish anyway.

This! Especially when it was so poorly done and hard to access.

They should have just done as many have suggested and put the sound features in the base instead.

I used the kayido chest plate that Hurricane made for me as for the helmet and mask that he also made for me as well. I did not like the HT ANH vader mask it just did not look right. I guess I have to find the RO cape then
Accuracy wise..the Kaiyodo mask and chest armor are still where the bar is at when it comes to a 1/6 vader..
Interesting about the chest armor, I'll have to hold on to mine. The ANH inner robe fits well over it?
It works great and not only is it more accurate but it also adds a little more needed bulk to the figure..
Next to Tarkin in the pics, the body on this Tarkin/Vader two-pack Vader does seem a bit shorter than either the HT ANH or HT RO Vaders.
I'm guessing it's still the R1 body...
He is indeed 6 feet. 6.2 with boots.... 6.0 in slippers.
Cushing was no 6 footer..he was more around the 5'10 mark

Both ANH and R1 vaders were highly inaccurate...and this new/old hybrid bash is no different..but it's a nice offering for those who don't have a vader yet..

well I tried a mod on the RO vader body. I managed to swap out the arms from the ANH body and use them on the RO body so I could use the light up arm feature and it worked. it might not look pretty from the sides of the arm but you will have to sand down the excess to make them look like the shoulder parts of the RO body design. 1) The chain in the actual costume is plastic, not metal. It's a gardening material iirc.

2) the chain on the costume was a huge complaint for Prowse, and he complained enough that the costume department added the hook for Rotj

5) the eye lenses are already semi translucent. A backing of paper helps increase the redness.

6) I've found satin finish to be most accurate in my experience.

For your second set of problems:

2) it drapes much more naturally without it

4) It's not a problem so much as an inaccuracy. It's a fairly involved fix and from what I've seen I don't think they addressed it in the re-release.

Matrix, for chest armor are you referring to the box? Or the shoulder armor, just curious as I've been toying with switching back to the kaiyodo shoulders.

Don't suppose you can show this mod armored up with the light saber to the RO body :dunno

What makes the Kayodo parts so accurate? I just can't tell.... And what are they anyway? I thought they wre a mass-produced king of thing, but somebody says that somebody else "made it for me"...
