Me... I am picky when it comes to Vader(since I am a proud Vader snob)and the stuff I buy. The early proto/progress pic I saw of the HT Vader looked really good in overall shape... But it was from about 3-4 feet back so up close pics are different. But it does lack in specific ANH details. It's still the best 1/6 scale put out by any company so far.

This is something people keep forgetting. The dome isn't great but the facemask is a whole lot closer than people seem to think.

You still saw a screen used Vader outfit, just not from the film it was billed as. That's still pretty cool to see in person.



Maybe because Vader is black/shiny and so harder to see many of the differences, I'm not as picky re: HT matching all these differences. I only know all the ANH vs ESB/ROJ differences because I'm doing a custom Vader.

True! Seeing all those things at that exhibit was like a religious experience for me. Lol

So HT is going all QS002 Endoskeleton on Vader? Call it a specific thing but don't even look at reference for that specific thing and instead just make everything up from a jumble of different things.

The proto looks like a 'something' Vader right now - it doesn't really resemble anything from a specific film yet.

In hand that may differ, but who knows really.

Well, when they can make specific Iron Man figures, they can make movie specific Vaders. All it takes is a little effort and only looking at reference from the movie you are replicating and they really do not have the excuse of not having enough reference, as there is an overabundance of reference - unlike when Marmit sculpted theirs and they still got it more right.


Oh, and don't get me wrong. Even though it's not the ANH suit, it's still super awesome.

The breathing sound is a great addition. I wonder will it prove as unpopular as Robocop's and ED-209's sounds. I mean they can't redub it with an asian accent can they.....

Looks like Vader to me. Only thing I hope they change is the size of the chest box. Interrogator Droid is a nice touch. Hope that means Leia isn't too far behind.

It'll look passable lit I imagine, but I'm not expecting much. I'm more concerned how it looks unlit, since that's how it'll be displayed most of the time.

Omigod omigod omigod! I cannot get this soon enough!!!

If the final piece looks anywhere near as good as this prototype, the inclusion of breathing sounds as well as a light-up saber will make this a must-buy for me, despite owning just about every 1/6 scale Vader since Hasbro's Collector Series twenty years ago. Thank you, Hot Toys, thank you!

BTW, does this mean every HT Star Wars figure with a saber will light up?
