Not sure if you're meaning to be or not but that was a pretty ____ thing to say bro. I mean if someone thinks this piece isn't worth it and you disagree, fine...but logically attempting to associate a persons belief in an inconsistent value with being poor is just ridiculous. Don't get me wrong you can think what you want...but I'd like to think the collection community is more united than simply telling someone who doesn't think a piece is worth the money poor and to get out of the hobby. I mean don't you want collecting to stay strong for years to come? To do that more people need to join the hobby as opposed to be brushed away.

You're new. Most of Shai's posts you just smile at and move along.

$500 for the set?!?! That suit gantry isn't worth $360 with everything else coming out. If it weren't SDCC and there wasn't so much awesomeness coming out soon, maybe, but there are too many other things I want and that $360 will go towards them.

Just to give you guys an idea this Gantry JARVIS custom

https://geewhizcustoms.multiply.com/photos/album/30/The_Vitruvian_J.A.R.V.I.S.

went for at least $250 (https://sideshowcollectors.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75056&page=5

and that diorama alone had at least 6 pieces cobble together and working LED light. Even though the HT is indeed screen accurate, based on the number of pieces you get (dont know about the lights since the HT prototype doesnt show how thiers is set up) it still feels way over price in comparison to the example above

of course.

and custom pieces, well done custom pieces, should go for more than mass produced pieces.

How much do you think Medicom would charge for that ??? Of course $500 is a lot of money but you gotta ask yourself how much you want it... This is what collecting is all about.Making choices, collecting things you really like, not hoarding every cool figure that every compagny puts out.Only fair weather collectors are doing this.
This thing is totally worth it and at least we know that true Iron Man fans will own this.Time to priorize _____!!!
And Poseur collectors,GTFO !!!

The so-called "investment speculators" have ruined the coin, card, and comic book collectibles market. It's inevitable that they would horn in on the designer/grail toy market as well.

Complaining that you can't afford something is like bemoaning the fact that you can't own a Bugatti or a Picasso.

And out of curiosity -- how much is BISHART charging for his IM2 Monaco diorama? :stick

You must have a rich Mommy and Daddy.:clap

Hurm . . . maybe he's got an education and a good job?

Not everyone on this board was born after the Berlin Wall fell . . . :rotfl

You can use Iron Monger in display with any iron Man figure and it looks ten thousand times better than 5 mechanical arms :lecture

The funny thing is I posted the Iron Monger pictures on my normal action figure board (people there collect mostly 6" figures) and they weren't wowed by the Monger, but kept bringing up the awesome mechanical arms of the Gantry in the background, and kept telling me I had to buy it so they could see it in person. I figured people would think Monger rocked, but nope...they want to see the Gantry.

As crude and as comical as Shai is....the man speaks truth.

Things are going up in price and some people still have not realized that you can't have it all. They see pics from SDCC and want 25 things from the show really bad. They can only afford 5.

The complaining about prices begins and the nitpicking on the details at what are mostly protos continues. Companies like Hot Toys don't care that you like that Vampirella or that Jessica Rabbit PF. They don't care that you want a Wolf Predator. They certainly don't give a crap if Sideshow started a new 1:2 line. They want your money. They want you to buy mostly (or only) Hot Toys. They can smell your Iron Man and Dark Knight addiction. That's their job and that's what they do.

Make your choices.

its 250, which includes the light up whips. and its all made by hand, by me, one man. haha

not a factory of people, with a run of 3,000, buying supplies, materiels, and paints in bulk, and a huge amount of coin in my pocket from past releases.
and honestly, now that ive started casting them, materials alone on my base and whips... its like im doing people a favor at that price.

but i dont think you were taking a ***. were you? you were just asking i believe.

In all honesty, no BISH. Was just asking . . . not taking a ***. Noosir!

You're a talented guy and your work I've seen on these boards is impressive.
And---for the record---the gantry piece is super-freaking-expensive.
But as it's aimed towards extreme diehard Shellhead fans, it'll likely get snapped up.

And . . . EIGHTY points of articulation.

Make your choices.

This just made me think of this: You still don't get it, do you? He'll find her! That's what he does! That's ALL he does! You can't stop him! He'll wade through you, reach down her throat and pull her ____in' heart out!

cool man! thanks.
problem is, im an extreme iron man fan, and i want this bad... can only envision paying 275 for it though...
and... 80? are you saying its EIGHTY bucks? haha i wish. is it for sale at amiami?

Hmmm, this is a pretty cool diorama, and I like that they're offering it both WITH and WITHOUT the MARK IV (for those of us that already have him)...but at $350 WITHOUT the MARK IV, I'm not so sure. I'd get it for $200...maybe $250, but that'd be pushing it. I'll have to think about this one.

I might just have to save my pennies for the Monger instead! :yess:
