cool man! thanks.
problem is, im an extreme iron man fan, and i want this bad... can only envision paying 275 for it though...
and... 80?

He he he, Bish, why not find someone who bought it, ask him to borrow it for a couple of days, get a cast mold of it and mass produce this sucker and sell it for a cheap. Its what id do if i had the skills to do so. :lol:lol:lol:lol

there are so many parts to this thing. there is no way. haha that would be like 100molds.

alright, this must be the cheapest way to get the mark IV. if anyone wants to split this let me know. you get the mark IV i get the gantry. we split the cost right down the middle! whos in?
:1-1:
its a decent plan.
you get the mark IV for 50 less than you could on ebay. i get the gantry for 80 less than i could by it self!

plus ill even throw in the donut box, donut, and a set of shades.

I'll wait for the Toys2 release. Their prices have been lower than sideshow lately. I can't believe it cost $359.99! I was confident that it would be around $200 tops

Just saw this for the first time:

"An additional articulated Robotic Arm as bonus for this collectible set"

Is anyone else slipping...

I would only pay a certain amount, but the i come back i look at it and i... I'm slipping, i need a sponser to keep me in check.

/slaps Nova back to reality....I expect the same from you when i start slipping myself.

Same here....Too many other potential figures that I'd rather buy with that money. My HT Mark IV is good enough as is.

They want your money. They want you to buy mostly (or only) Hot Toys. Make your choices.

Solid yes you have a point there but just for arguments sake.. lets say based on the number of people who agree that the price is way to high and are opting to pass vs the people who have shown willingness to pay. Id estimate that the people willing to buy it is at around 25%.

25% out of a 100% "who initially had interest before the relaization of the price hike", would give HT a profit of $8999.75.

Imagine if they priced it at $169.99 which got the remaining 75% who initially had interest back onboard. It would give HT a profit of $16999.

Thats double the profit. Look at every board, FB comment and you can clearly see how many people opted to bow out.

If anyone one is to argue about economics and how HT stands to gain more by increasing the price, consider the current economic trends. The more appealing the price is the more likely your going to get consumer interest. Hell why do you think Blurays arent selling as much as DVD's or direct dowload via Itunes, simply put the price.

Its not like people are responding resentfully for the price, its just that people really wish HT would reconsider thier pricing guideline for this particular item.

So far from what ive seen, everyone expects the Iron Monger or the Batmobile to be at a high price, simply based on work involved or the scale of those particular figure. Most of these people are like "man this is gonna be expensive but i can see why".

With regards to the Gantry its, 4 arm pieces (2 of which are identical)and a stand. Based on the comparison to large sized figures or even non figures it just doesnt feel quite right at that price.

Im sure if the price had been lower. people would have been more than willing to squeeze this one into thier pre existing orders. I know I would have and several others.

Oh well in the end this item still goes as a pass for me. As much as i want it, i cant justify paying the set price as it is now.

Damn, I can't lie, I do want this, but I think it's just WAY overpriced as has been mentioned on multiple occasions. The Gantry like others have said shouldn't be more then 200 at the utmost. Less then a year ago I got Mech Test tony with the stand, robot, backdrop, full wiring and lights for $150. Now you are trying to tell me that 4 arms with no lights and a small hexagon that folds is worth $360.......REALLY?! That's a mighty hard pill to swallow.

So as much as I WANT this, unless I win the lottery or get some crazy bonus outta nowhere from work, I won't be picking this up and instead will be saving my money for other items.

I'm just hoping this trend doesn't continue. Since I started picking up Hot Toys the prices just seem to keep getting higher and higher...which sadly means I can get less and less. I am afraid to see what the Batmobile and Joker cost.....

I can follow your train of thought and you make sense. However, I feel they sort of what you to get that set with the figure. They are even making it more appealing with the exclusive robotical arm. I am sure they read it in forums that the Mark IV was the best Downey Jr. likeness ever. They know what's up. They know what they got. Time to double dip...

You buy the set at $450 from a retailer and the gantry is $225 and the figure is $225. What? you already bought a Mark IV? enjoy your box of donuts and pay an extra $100 at a retailer for about $325 for the gantry only release.

Again, your math and economics makes sense. Hot Toys may have a completely different plan and motive. You can accept it or pass. I am sure that they know there are plenty of people that are very particular about their Iron Man collections that when all is said and done will pay it. It doesn't make it right but that's what they are banking on.

yes but that shouldnt reflect on the stand alone gantry since there is no figure attached to it

You buy the set at $450 from a retailer and the gantry is $225 and the figure is $225. .

A bit confused on this one since the breakdown for at least the limited exlusive is $140.00 for the MKIV and $359 for the gantry

You can accept it or pass. I am sure that they know there are plenty of people that are very particular about their Iron Man collections that when all is said and done will pay it.

Yeah, your definitely right, its just too bad is all. Oh well, life moves on and its time to find something else to put the money to or find out who ordered it and find out exactly where they live :p

Just saw this for the first time:

I noticed that as well. It's a complete slap in the face to previous Mark IV owners. Why is it that the additional Robotic Arm and the Mark IV only costs $126 more. The additional robotic arm should be included with the Gantry alone, and it should cost no more than $200-$250.:gah:

The problem I've noticed lately with all of HT's bull$#!+, is that we the customers are not all on the same page. If their was more consistency between us all, we would have a lot more power to force HT to listen. I will never understand why customers constantly defend HT. When people complain about price hikes and re-releases, there are always customers that will come to HT's defense.:dunno I guess I'm more concerned than a lot of HT's customers with how I spend my money. The way HT has been going, I feel it is almost impossible to spend your money wisely.

One more thing. There is a huge difference between a flipper and a scalper. Seems to be that the terms are used to loosely and that most people don't realize the differences.:slap

:peace:peace:peace:

To me a flipper is a person who buys it strictly to seel on a bit later for a small profit.

A scalper is the same but instead of a full profit they ask for double the retail price.

I have only flipped one HT i got slightly more than i paid so i was happy to have that cash towards my War Machine, without screwing soneone over.
