Midichlorians wouldn’t have been a big deal if the movie was rock solid otherwise. But once a movie is subpar or bad every questionable thing becomes a target for ridicule.

This really isn't that hard to figure out. The higher your Midi-Chlorian count, the stronger your connection to the Force. The Midi-Chlorians don't tell Jedi/Sith how to use the Force, they just make their ability to use the force more potent.

I don't like the idea of Midi-Chlorians either, but really, people get too hung up on them.

I think that the idea they are more potent is incorrect. I agree with the idea it gives them more ability to tap into the force, but to control it as use it.....

Thats what Yoda was all about, and later Hermit Luke.....being able to tap into it is way different that being able to control and harness it for your agenda.....

Sent from the inside of a giant slug in outer space.....

Qui-Gon's explanation to Anakin was "a microscopic lifeform that resides within all living cells" and Obi-Wan's first explanation to Luke about the Force was "it's an energy field created by all living things." I wouldn't get so hung up on it, though. When Anakin's blood sample comes back with a higher Midi-chlorian count than Yoda's, Obi-Wan asks "What does that mean?" and Qui-Gon says "I don't know." The Midi-chlorians and their relationship to the Force are still a mystery, even to them. It becomes a lost science. By Episode IV, nobody outside of a couple living beings even believe or remember the Jedi or the Force were real. By Episode VII, Luke Skywalker is a myth.

You bring up an excellent point and one that always bothered me with the time-line of the prequels.

"For over a thousand generations, the Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. Before the dark times, before the Empire." Then once the Emperor takes power, it took only 20 years for most of the galaxy to get hit with Jedi-amnesia.

Yeah, they screwed that up. And the reverse of that is the implication that they’ve been living under the empire for so long. But compared to a thousand generations the 20-25 years of the empire doesn’t even seem like it’s that long when you consider the ROTJ outcome. I think that’s all the more reason that the First Order should have literally been the Empire remnants making another push.

^ The 1st order was ****. They basically ripped off the novels but used only minuscule amounts of the material that was actually good. That ryan johnson guy is such a hack and is giving SW a bad name.

My own interpretation of it was that few, if any of the local galactic population would ever have seen a Jedi. I don't know the "canon" population of the SW galaxy, but if each planet has the same as Earth, then the 60,000 Jedi population could only have been one fraction of one percent.
Maybe on occasion normal people would see a Jedi float past on an assignment.
But normal people would hear stories about Jedi(Wild, almost unbelievable stories about them and their abilities).
Then, following the Order 66 "Official" story(Jedi went nuts and had to be eliminated), most people who had never seen one for themselves would seldom think about them.
When you see the Rebellion, it always strikes me that the reason their motto is "May the force be with you" is that most(Not all, especially the younger ones) of them would have known Jedi, and realised the stories about them being evil were lies.
But everyone else, working and striving to live in a tough galaxy(That just seems to be getting tougher by the day), wouldn't give much thought to the now extinct Jedi.

Well my dx16 maul should arrive next week. Now I might have to preorder this to go with him.

Qui-Gon is looking pretty good from those images a couple posts above. I initially was going to pass but I might end up getting him.

Thanks for sharing the pics. He looks fantastic! :rock Looking forward to adding him to my collection.

Like his former master Count Dooku (and an increasing amount of HT figures), they made him look younger than in the film and therefore lessened some of his characteristics. Still, this is the best 1/6 Qui-Gon so far, and I definitely want this great character in my collection.

Yes, figure futzing for display at conventions is a hit or miss thing for sure and Jinn is looking pretty frumpy there (although to be fair, Qui-Gon was not one to worry about having clean and crisp robes in TPM). I've always wished the figures were better presented at the shows.

One thing that is apparent here is that it will take some careful futzing with the robe around the shoulders to make sure the sculpted hair doesn't look like it's just floating there. And while this proto does take some years off of him with the portrait, it still looks really good.

Sith characters from the films are almost done. It is rationale to think Hot Toys will dive deeply into Jedi line, hopfeully we will see Kit Fisto ups for PO next.

I wonder how far they?ll go with the prequel Jedi characters. It was surprising to see Kit Fisto at all. Mace seems like a safe bet, and while there?s a version out I imagine we?ll get a padawan version of Obi-Wan.

Still waiting for Jango.
Jango is a guarantee. Just a matter of when. He?s too easy for Hot Toys to not do after having done Boba already. I?m guessing we?ll probably get a prequel Palpatine at some point soon too. Since they?ve already done the Emperor version.
