This should probably be around the New Goblin or Odin price range. Don't forget that New Goblin comes with two heads as well. The ski mask one sucks pretty bad, but it's there. He has a hoverboard too.

Well Captain America didn't exactly have amazing accessories either. I think most of the $30 increase is the 2 head sculpts plus the fact that ever 1-2 months Hot Toys has an increase, I think $199 is looking like the base price for most figures now with the "cheaper" ones maybe being $179. They are going to sell a lot less at these prices because scalpers aren't interested in products that are overproduced or when they can only make 5-10% on them. I pre-ordered it through sideshow, can always cancel.

Also note on figures like this when Sideshow has free shipping they are really the same price as others like AE because of points. Sideshow is $200 but you get $10 back in points, final cost $190. AE for example would be $180, you get $3 back in points but pay $13 for shipping, so the final cost is the same $190. AE double boxes them which I love, never received a damaged box from them, but Sideshow is easier to cancel with no 10% fee... Basically my new rule of thumb with Hot Toys figures is: Over $200 and I am sure I want it, order from AE (discount above that price outways free shipping, like with Iron Monger), $200 or under order from Sideshow...

This was always going to be a pass for me but I am somewhat surprised at the price tag at $200. Granted it has two sculpts I still feel it should still be in the $150 range for PO. Like with Odin, Goblin, and Todd - I think the market will drive the price down on this one once it is released. It may look tempting to order now but once there are announcements from licenses such as Predator/AVP, TDKR, and Avengers later in the year this will fall way down in the priority 'must have' list.

Todd? as in Sweeney Todd? that was over $200

To be fair, Cap didn't come with a 2nd head, which is more expensive to produce than a 2nd gun.

T-1000 / T800 :lecture

only way is too much is on after maket sold out prices later on ..I 'D rather not worry and order NOW ! Right now ha ha ......

See Below

Based on what has been happening to HT product this won't sell out soon.

Aftermarket pricing is no longer a concern until it's sold out at retail, which isn't happening much lately.

...

I like this alot so i'm gonna see what OSB has it for, i hope HT hit the Q3 time frame soon

I will get this when it is released for sure, but I am not going to preorder because I am positive that I can get it for much less once it has widespread release. I usually preorder all Hot Toys from Alterego, but over the last 4-5 months, I have easily found every release for 20%-30% under retail. I can't justify preorder prices anymore. The only exception was the Batman Begins EX Bruce Wayne.

He's saying that those figure's prices were pushed down on the secondary market from their original pre-order prices.

gotcha, yeah I took a bath on the Todd figure! At least by waiting on Goblin I got it for $130 shipped off ebay. Wouldn't have bought it if not for that price. Might do the same with this figure, cancel my pre-order and wait to get it on ebay for $150-$160 shipped...

you just hope the people in charge at hot toys are seeing a pushback on these figures and either really cut down production or slash prices. I am fine paying $200 for a figure like this if they only produce what is pre-ordered! I don't flip them but I don't like spending the money if I think the value will drop just incase I need to sell it. The only figure I ever ordered more than 1 of was the Superman Sideshow Exclusive, and that was a BAD move, still hasn't sold out :gah:

Have there been any figures recently (other than the first spiderman) that were not widely available after release? Hot Toys just has no clue as to demand since they raised prices way too quickly, going from $130-$170 range to $170-$230 range in a matter of a year, they had no clue what impact it would have on sales and just produced the same amount as expected at the lower price range (big mistake).

I understand people's being hesitant too order but when you realy realy like something you buy it ,and that's what i do ...I Dont buy everything just the ONES that realy ROCK ..LIKE JOKER AND BATS ,CAP AND RED ..I CAN ONLY SHOW YOU THE DOOR ..THE REST IS UP TO YOU............

As much as I love this figure I will have to wait on it. There is just to much great stuff coming out this year and not everything has been announced yet. Between HT and SSC my yearly budget is almost gone already.

The great cutback has begun for me too. 'Tis a sad time for Boba Ben. I love Hot Toys, but I have to be much more selective now.

I know, me too :(

Looking at my pre-order list and ones i'm liking but not ordered yet i'm having to cancel ones that don't scream to me "buy me, buy me, buy me"

I'm still waiting for those in my sig, which hopefully wil be Q3 when debuted, (but i said that about three months ago for Q2)

So i'm not ordering any that can't be cancelled if need be.

Imagine how big his car would be at 1/6 scale. :thud:
No car w/o Dr. Zola accessory!

I see a lot of people saying they are going to "wait" rather than "pass", in the past they just bought because the price was right and Hot Toys didn't over produce. Hot Toys saw the market prices skyrocket for a couple of years when retailers sold out and their eyes got way too big and they haven't re-visited it, otherwise they would see they killed their own market! In the past if you "waited" you missed out and would have to pay up to double to get it just 6 months after release, now that is not the case anymore, unless they address the supply issue (stop making so many).

I am actually going to cancel my IG-88 Exclusive to get this figure instead. Just can't see spending $190 on a sideshow 12" figure that is basically just plastic with silver paint. 3 years ago that figure would have been $90, raw materials haven't gone up that much, LOL

At this point in time there is no need to pre-order. As has been mentioned there was a time when you'd better get you're pre-order in asap or you'll pay for it in the end.

And to be honest that's a good thing. I'm finding out that I can live without many of these releases.

I've been in selective mode for about 2 years now. The crazy thing is, it was never about the money either.

No Luke love.....$300 for two complete figures at today's rate isn''t too bad.

I'm not a SW's fan. Awesome looking figure though, that's for sure.
