This is all good to me. I have the original and my fear was this new release would be far superior and that I would be compelled to buy it. Luckily its slightly better because a decent head sculpt but the original still holds up. Awesome for people that missed the first but not epic enough to warrent a new purchase. Awesome.

Yeah i actually applaud HT for not going too far and making a figure too different that original owners would feel compelled to update.

I was expecting this and a Tony TT from the hostage cave scene as well, but this is a great update but not too much.

I skipped the first and will probably leave this as i'm not into Iron Man much anymore, but that's not to say if Q3 has nothing to peak my interest i'll still leave it.

But with HT that aint gonna happen, hopefully The ones in my sig will be shown and go up for order soon

If you take the light up flame accessory, and put it in Ghostriders pants it will look like he's pissing fire :lol

There's not much difference because the first one -- sculpt aside -- was pretty much spot-on. I'm just happy for The Mike who will now be able to get his hands on this.

Only thing that is bumming me out, is the little holographic suit. That is frikkn awesome.

Yeah clear is nice and all. But you have two much cheaper
Options.
1- paint a 3 3/4 figure green and all it a day.
2- make a quick mold, and cast the 3 3/4 figure in clear green.

Now that I think about it. I'll be casting the mark 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 an maybe even the hulk buster 3 3/4 in clear green. No articulation. Just a quick cast. If I can get enough interest I'll make a bunch for people on here.

What say you? :)

Hate to say it guys, as I've been looking forward to this, but I think this is an alternate universe Mk 1, where Tony makes a small design error and ends up dying during his escape attempt after being gut shot multiple times with AK47 rounds...

Pay attention to the front armor plate covering the stomach area. On the screen original and HT 1.0, this plate comes right down to the waist armor. All the shots here though show a huge gap.

It looks to me like HT maybe did make the 2.0 a bit taller by stretching the torso somewhat without retooling the armor, leaving a pretty vulnerable and unsightly looking 1/2"-3/4" gap between the plates :(

Seeing Bandito's comparion pics, this stood out like a sore thumb. Better posability or not - this HAS to be corrected. That is not a suit of armor that anyone would have survived exiting a cave being shot at with AK's by any means. Good looking rerelease, but needs work to make it great.

I think that's what they did too. I like that he may be taller but it's too bad about the gap. Although it looks to be closer to 1/4'' rather than 1/2'' to 3/4'' so it may be fixable.

That thing looks so unreal.
Finally gonna get a Mark I.
Amazing, as for the gap:
Maybe they just made it more poseable and therefor the gap will make sense in the end...imo?!
Just sayin´.
:dunno

i don't know, this is my mark 1, and its got a pretty good size belly gap... looking at the comparison shots i was convinced you were right, but now I'm not so sure... maybe.

If I had the original Mark I, I wouldn't be bothered about buying this but I don't so this is a definite buy for me. For some reason I thought it would of come with a lot more accessories but still if it keeps the price down then I'm not bothered. I'm getting a Mk I :yess:

Thats so weird mine has no gap at all

Wow i aint had mine out for a couple of months as have just moved house :thud: i forgot how awesome this beast is.
I'm gonna get the new scultp as theres gonna be ____ loads of the new ones around.
I also agree with the earlier posting of how the oily/damaged look on this old one is more appealing, wonder why they changed it?

I'd be down for a cast of MK 1 and 2!

I AM SO STOKED! :yess:

I would have never gotten this @ $400-$500. But now, as long as its under $300, its bought.

I think its interesting how so many owners of V1 are not happy about this being released and of course those who do not have it, are thrilled.

One complaint from owners of V1 is that their will be woth less than what they paid for it in the secondary market. I have 2 things to say about that.

1 - Hot Toys didn't price this or any other out of production HT as high as they are in the secondary market. That 100% OUR fault for being willing to pay those prices.

2. I don't see anyone who owns a HT they paid $150 for ( silly thing, Dark Knight, etc ) complaining about their figures now being worth 2-4 times what they paid for it.

If you're going to be pissed and criticize for values going down because of a HT re-release, then give them props for making your $150 purchase worth $500.

NOW GIVE ME A PO! :clap

^^^^ I haven't read too many complaints from folks owning the original Mark I regarding this figure (least in this thread) Most v1 owners including myself say it looks like the one we already have with a few upgrades, no big deal :dunno

Who's complaining? I'm not, i think its great that people will get to own this beast.
The original will always be the original and the MK I 2.0 will always be a reissue/remake, in years to come it will be the first one that people will want more. Theres gonna be loads of these around soon and I'm hoping to get me a sculpt so i will have the best of both worlds :yess:
