Agreed about the prices. I am more into customs than official HT or Sideshow pieces at this point, in part, because they feel more like they are worth the price considering what goes into them and the edition sizes. But also because Iron Man and Joker are only going to do so much for me.

I know what you mean. I didn't even buy the new Joker. An army of Heath Ledgers isn't something I need.

I have all the Iron Man suits so far but it's possible I might miss this one. Even though I was almost 24 hours late, I still put myself on the waitlist. What do you have to lose?

Several of the parts were rehashed from other figures. So yeah, kinda. I'm sure some of the older HT IM fans will elaborate further.

different paint effects on the standard red and gold paint job to match the thor fight, mark iv head sculpt (with slightly different paint), standard base, only accessories included where the rocket forearm attachments


it ditched all battle damaged parts and IM2 specific base basically

The Mark VI had no email notification like this one, which lead to a slower sale for it, while this one had people scrambling around when the email hit.

it was like throwing a bone into a pen of starving dogs. all for the privilege of over spending. it was a terrible way to put up a limited edition figure that so many people would want. i guess sideshow really hasn't learned that slighting the collector makes them not want to buy from them anymore. last time this happened, i discontinued buying ALL sideshow products, canceled over 50 pre-orders (back then no deposit was needed) and started getting into bowen statues. now that i'm into hot toys figures, sideshow is the biggest US distributor however i'm purchasing ONLY exclusives from them and getting all the rest from my regular retail sources. i also canceled ALL my pre-orders with SS except two that had deposits on them. again i'm fed up with the horrible way sideshow does things like limited edition pre-orders through an email that doesn't arrive to all at the same time and for some, not at all. this SURELY didn't give everyone a fair shot at ordering this like the SS customer service rep said it would. absolutely awful!

NO...the previous poster was wrong! the mark VI promo is waaaaaaaay more rare than the mark VII. there are only 3000 mark VI 'avengers version' iron man figures out there. if you remember, stark used the mark VI for a majority of the movie yet it is not represented in the HT line except in the promo version.

this promo is a mark VII avengers version but soon HT will be releasing many thousands of the Mark VII. i do have the exclusive version on order which is sold out but the regular is still available.

first...misplaced anger? this is why i detest posting on public forums. you don't know me so what gives you a right to analyze and access the way i post? piss off.

second...the last promo had an email that gave a specific time that it would go on sale, not just.....BUY NOW!!! the 'surprise' sale date and time is NOT the way to offer a limited item. sideshow should have had a PPO. but their servers are so pathetic they can't handle the traffic, so instead of upgrading to handle a larger influx of traffic, they thought of a way to avoid that at the cost of many, many unhappy customers.

third...i know damn well what sideshow charged for the last IM promo and i know that the price this time around has been jacked up over $100. i'm well aware of all sideshow's fails as i've been purchasing from them since 2004.

fourth...you are defending their pathetic 'BUY NOW' ordering method, which means you most likely got one. if you had no intention to order or didn't get one, then i'll refer to #1...piss off.
