We should take into consideration the fact that Honk Kong only received 800 pieces and 600 in singapore...that couldve caused the price to rise over there also. Sideshow will most likely get more than 800.

exactly, when the action city po price came out in SG, I already mentioned that it would be in the USD$300 region but nobody wanted to believe it. oh well... :dunno

Singapore only got 600 of these figures. That would cause the price to rise. SS will most likely get more than 600, to cause the price to drop. Supply and Demand my friend. This figure will be less than $300:lecture

But if this is limited which it will most likely be how many do you really think SS will get? say theres 3000 like some are guessing, 600-800 went to asia, so that leaves at most 2400 to the rest of the world. Of the 2400 how many do you think SS will get? Hell even if its 5000 it would only be 4400 to 4200 left for everyone else in the world. Do you really think with a limited run like that there going charge only $240-260? If you were SS or HT and knew how crazy these sell would you sell it for $240-260 or $300? Sorry man but it don't make any business sense. They know these will sell. The only way I can see they charge $240-260 is if its not limited, then maybe but IMO all signs point to this being limited.

Look at all the titles of all the various HT figures. They all have the word "limited" in them. Technically, everything is limited. The car I drive is limited. As a matter of fact nothing is unlimited.

800 Hong Kong
300 or 600 Singapore (Not sure)

Hot Toys did charge $190 for the Mark VI Avenger movie promo that was limited to 3000 figures...so I think $240-$260 is veeery possible.

And if Hot Toys doesn't disclose the amount made on this figure, it is most likely they made more than 3000, so that should drive the price down even more.

Yes you do have a point but I think the limited there talking about here is the amount. If only 3-5k would be released that would make this BD limited and most likely up the price because its in limited quantities.

Look I hope your right on this but its just don't seem that way. The mark VI might have gone for $190 but that was a few years back, but prices have gone up since then. And you have to remember it was a extra promo thing for the movie, having a BD version wasn't something they tried before so they were probably testing the waters on it and it sold like hotcakes! Hell its $500 plus on ebay to get your hands on one. So now that its round two and they know they will sell how would you price it??? And look at the die cast cost, $309??? They can say what they want but there just hiking it up because they know people will still buy it. And yeah it could be more than 3000, but even if its another 2000 extra worldwide do you think that's enough for them for want to drop the price in the 240-260 range when we as well as they know people will pay the $300? I mean people are paying $309 for the die cast? And again bro I really hope your right but we all know that HT has been getting greedy and $300 dosent seem that far fetched.

It hasn't been a few years, the Mark VI Promo came out was released by SS lasy May. And you're right these do sell like hot cakes, but the ones on ebay being sold for $500+ sit for awhile, and eventually sell, but there's probably only been like 10 or so sold for that amount.

But I completely see what you are saying, and you could very well be right this figure is going to be $300+. But can they really justify this figure being the same cost as a die cast figure? I guess we agree to disagree. :hi5:

Again I hope your right on this, would be nice to save a few bucks in my pocket, but seeing how they have been I think there gonna be greedy. Your right this should be no more than $250, you do get less when compared to the mark VII but I guess we wont really know until they release the official pre order.

Have they ever justified any of their random price hikes? Truth is every couple months we come to expect a hike without rhyme nor reason. Die Cast being over $300 and Mark VII at $250, it's easy to anticipate this being somewhere in between the two.

Well when I talk about price hikes I always use the Mark I compared to the Mark 1 2.0.

The original Mark 1 was an amazing figure for it's price at $160 or so. And then the 2.0 was released 3 or 4 years later at a price tag of $220. Two exact same figures but the 2.0 blew the original one out of water IMO. I was completely fine with the price hike there because I could see the improvement on quality from the headsculpt to the paint apps and even the figure felt heavier and more durable.

However, the Mark VII Standard version compared to the Mark VII Battle Damaged version are basically the same figure but you get only a couple of accessories with the BD version as opposed to the standard version where you get a greater amount. The only real thing more costly to produce on the BD version is the base and it being probably more limited, but I can't see it causing the price to jump $40+. When all said and done this figure should cost the same or less than the Standard version.

I hope you are right, as I figure lots of us on here do not want to pay more then 250 for it.
Between this version and the standard version, I just wish they would release the standard version already and put this BD version up or preorder already.:impatient::impatient:

Hot toys page 107k fans or more.
3k or 5k or 6k won't make a difference! It is still a limited figure. Just image how many fans from those 107k+ would want that figure... then think again if 6k doesn't sound limited :p

From their beginnings it is clear they've made changes to put them on top of the 1/6 market which I understand comes with a price.

You take figures from the same film (i.e. Avengers) their prices are all over the board for standard releases (Fury, Hawkeye, Widow, Coulson, Cap and Loki). I am sure people can reason why the pricing is different whereas I'd expect similar prices for all except Cap. He (Cap) has two head sculpts yet is less expensive than Loki :cuckoo:

It is difficult to reason why they cost what they do instead have fun playing the guessing game until the official announcement. Then sticker shock happens and your left scratching your head how....
