I hiiiiighly doubt this figure will be more than the standard Mark VII. This figure has way less accessories and I just can't see because it being a promo edition that there would be a $50 price jump. Even if these are new parts, and the base shouldn't have that high of a production cost. The price should remain the same or drop to $230-$240.

i think that the base itself already increases the price. its a chitauri base with half or quarter the soldier sculpted so that equates to around at least $50 more and thus price will be increased.

rationale:
-new BD parts and helmet head and hands = increase in price from original mark vii.
-less accessories = people will still buy as its limited edition and BD with new hands.
-chitauri base = charge more. people will still buy. can be used with hulk.

therefore= high price.

can't see why anyone would think it would be cheaper. :dunno :cuckoo:

can't compare mark vi as that's almost a year ago and HT prices are now at an extreme high and climbing.

It's still not known how limited it will be?

How man Mark VII are getting produced to warrant a $250 price?

It's just a new figure, with less new stuff. That base would should not increase the cost by $50.

And I agree Hot Toys have risen in price, but the significant rise is due to the new Die Cast material. This figure is still plastic. :lecture

i believe they want to get the asian market allotment released first.

So lads, just to be clear as my friend will be playing in Singapore next week,
this store will not have the actual figure, this is only for a preorder?

I guess there would be little point in asking him to do anything at the store?

PO=preorder

he will have to wait in line and he would probably have to make an arrangement for shipping to another country.

yup unless he's there on Monday 29 April at 11am at the stated location, he still needs to queue and hope he gets to be one of the 300.

new figure with less stuff never means low price. iron man plastic prices have always risen. not just diecast, and even more so for exclusives and promos. and a base like this will definitely increase the price even if people wouldn't want the base. i know why some people are hoping the price is low so that they can afford it but realistically, it's not going to be lower than mark vii. it's probably higher for reasons i've already mentioned.

Not only that but SSC prices always match with other retailers (give or take a few dollars) and so far all prices have been in the $300 dollar range (after conversion).

Hot Toys is clearly charging a premium price on this figure. So get ready to pay up, and remember that is better to secure one now instead of crying about even higher markups later. I learned that the hard way :(

Yes. He will actually be making advance FULL payment for the figure only. The figure is slated to be out in Q3 2013, so collection of the figure will only be then.

exactly, when the action city po price came out in SG, I already mentioned that it would be in the USD$300 region but nobody wanted to believe it. oh well... :dunno

Yeah, that is what I think too. The price will never go down anymore.

Anyway, it should be out for PO soon on SS, and then we will see who are the ones who will give it a pass. As I have mentioned before, for every one of us inside here who decides to give up, there will be another 10 more or even 100 more who is willing to pay the inflated price.

This is Hot Toys, remember?

Great, thanks lads!
Yeah, we are talking about a superstar DJ here, he is unlikely to queue up and I guess it is fair to assume that folks will indeed be queueing (despite sign) and it will snapped up rather quickly?!

I will still get him to check it out though.

Thanks again!

Well personally, if this figure is $300 or up, I will definitely pass. $260 is my max...which I still think is too high. I am hoping for it to be $230 or below....that would be great
