Watching the movie a second time, it does look like he could be a bit dirty and scuffed up at the end. Even if it's not really clear how he ended up that way since it didn't look like any of the rebels' gunfire actually hit him. I guess from all the sparks flying around or something? Or the decompression of space?

Sounds pretty reasonable to me. But you know the Internet: the most logical and respectful opinion will be ridiculed.

Really enjoyed the movie tonight but man that Vader costume was ridiculous. I almost laughed out loud. I have a new appreciation for the ROTS look now.

I thought it looked pretty good. The only thing that looked a bit wonky to me was the seemingly lack of a neck and the way the helmet looked slouched down on the shoulders, which seemed a bit more pronounced in his first scene when he was speaking with Krennic on (what I'm guessing was) Mustafar. It seemed like it wasn't as bad though in his subsequent scenes.

What I personally thought looked a bit ridiculous and most definitely should have been left out was the CGI'd young Leia in the very last scene of the film. I think showing her from behind and then just showing an arm to arm exchange of the plans would have been enough for people to get the idea.

All in all, I thought it was a good film though. Didn't expect more, didn't expect any less. It was pretty much what I thought it was going to be, which is just explain the DS and show the operation of how the plans were stolen, which I thought it did well. Segued nicely into ANH.

I personally loved the CGI Leia. Found her to look better than Tarkin, even. But the fact that they can do CGI like that just opens up a world of possibility in this universe that's never been possible before. And I think that's what they were proving to us by having them in this film.

I also thought Vader looked a little odd in Rogue One, but all that melted away at the end lol. Edwards did an amazing job of conveying what really hasn't been conveyed in any of the films IMO: that Darth Vader was/is a terrifying force to be reckoned with! Has anyone else been trying to reconcile how Vader went from manic one man army in Rogue One to ominous but chill leader who let others do more of the heavy lifting in episodes IV-VI?

That said, I already have HT New Hope Vader and am satisfied with it. Vader's look is consistent enough where I don't think I need multiple version of him, at least, with my budget it's not necessary.

I thought Tarkin was CGI'd beautifully; couldn't even tell it was merely CGI to me. Leia I thought was a little obvious. I mean I do admire them attempting to do so, but I think they could have left it out if they couldn't get it better than that and just left it at the shot that showed her standing there from behind, then merely showing the exchange. Though I do get the line of her saying "Hope" was a better way to end the film than just showing an arm to arm exchange.

My sentiments also.

I was briefly contemplating getting this R1 Vader in addition to my ANH Vader because I thought he was extremely intimidating in this film, but I think I'm going to pass on it. I think it'd be difficult enough having multiples of Vader in my collection because realistically, you only need one. I mean Vader is Vader. So having two of him in essentially the same armor with the tunic over the shoulder armor is a little needless to me, just to say this figure (R1) is what he looked like roughly 10 minutes before this one (ANH). :lol

If I do get another Vader, I think it'd be from ESB if HT does it. The nuances are at least a bit more vast, it's from what is my favorite overall SW film and I really like the DX07 Bespin Luke, so I think it'd be a great figure to pair with that set.

Strange how people have different reactions to the CGI: some thought Tarkin was obvious and bad, but Leia was really good, while I thought Tarkin was fine but Leia stood out more as CGI...in any case, none of that detracted from my enjoyment of the film.

From a quick look from a cam copy Leia looked better than Tarkin. But I really hope this opens up the chance of a HT Tarkin.

Same here. Overall a good film. I enjoyed it.

Has anyone used ebay seller wzlucky? Timcents vader is getting dearer and dearer. Is wzlucky reliable? Ships out fast and do they mark down the value of goods automatically like Timcent does? Thanks.

Ordered mine from there. I'm sure they do mark it down as i think they are HK based and they always do.

Not crazy about the chest box. I ordered this one for parts. My current plan is:

Rogue One:
- Helmet
- Gloves
- Body
- Suit
- Boots
- Belt/Boxes

ANH:
- Inner Robe
- Chestbox
- Cod Piece (or SS codpiece)

Undecided:
- Cape

Pretty much my plan as well assuming my wait list converts. If by some chance it doesn't, I'll just grab gloves and boots and call it a day.

I loved the movie but agree on the CGI leia..just didn't work for me and tarkin was just as bad..a case of 'less is more' would have worked better. And there were two different actors playing vader...spencer wilding in the krennic scene and stunt swordsman daniel naprous doing the action scene...hence the costume fitting differently.

I like this. I think I'll end up saving more if I will just get the rogue one vader instead of looking for parts. hope sideshow gets more.

Chest armor goes into the undecided list as well, have to see which one works best with the robes and height of the Rogue One Vader which is supposedly a bit taller--maybe a 1/4"

I thought I saw a size comparison between this R1 Vader and ANH Vader, with the R1 being significantly taller.

Which one would you say is closer to the correct scale height?

I really liked the overall height of the ANH Vader, and believe that to be more correct, but thought the proportions were off (legs looked a bit stubby to me). I'll have to see when I mix around with parts how it looks in the detolf if it is taller, and more importantly how it looks next to other figures like the basic Stormtrooper.

Owners of the ANH version, did you get this new version and is it worth it? Or are you content with the ANH one?
