It's been confirmed he has spoken lines but that could just be a few tag lines at the end.

The real proof will be in the trailer that plays with "Dr Strange" (so in a few weeks) - if that doesn't show a hint of Vader in action, then it probably is just a cameo; walk in, say a few lines, and fade out.

We'll see. But I also recall the director talking about him and the sound guy geeking out when James Earl Jones said "Power !". That doesn't sound like a tag line at the end to me.

Looks damn good. But man I hate pics of figures with flash. Just ruins it. Thankfully the third one looks good. Anybody have more pics?

Does anyone know if HT or Sideshow have a panel at NYCC ? Probably not I guess.

Wonder if they typically do video's of their stands ? I think they did for SDCC. I guess there will be fan videos by Sunday/Monday.

I wonder what the product specs meant by "new helmet sculpt" - this looks exactly the same as the ANH version. The eye lenses might be slightly different in how they are backed up but everything looks the same sculpt-wise.

And it's possible the space diaper is a result of them trying to do an actual "stuffed leather" effect (i.e. squishy instead of hard sculpted.) It's hard to say why they'd create something that looks so weird - either that, or that's how the costume looks in the movie.

It's a real question as to why this Vader looks nothing like the ANH Vader look - people seem to assume he's in battle at the end of RO that dirties him up, but it's also possible this is just how he looks all the way to the end, and it's either corporate retconning (ie. the way he looks in ANH wasn't intentional and a product of 1970's limitations, like the stormie) or just a lack of attention to detail; so you get "generic Vader."

It's also a weird assumption that he looks like this for most of RO, then is in some kind of battle at the end and gets dirtied up (making his armor look like his grimy/weathered ANH self) - but then never throughout all of ANH "changes his clothes" to go back to how he was before that battle. If your armor looks shiny/new like this figure normally, why would you then spend the weeks of time throughout ANH looking like a blowtorch has scorched your armor?

If they change one molecule, they can say "new sculpt".

Actually, its China.... they can say it even when not true.

In looking at the specs again it says "HIGHLY POLISHED NEW HELMET SCULPT" - so maybe what they mean is the "new" part is simply the "highly polished" thing.

But calling something "new" just because it's been polished this time is a bit of a stretch.

Well judging from the Vader standup posted earlier, he isn't really quite as shiny in the movie as the HT figure made him look, so there may not be quite as drastic a change. And I don't really see Vader being vain enough to care about what his armor looks like anyway. If he got all shined up again for ESB it's probably only because the previous armor got seriously damaged at some point between movies, in some big battle we never saw, and he had no choice but to replace it.

I highly doubt this is a new sculpt. HT is going to try and pump this out as quick as possible. However, they're going to try and make it sound as "new" as possible.
