This thread is a real eye opener. You'd think people who are willing to spend hundreds on action figures would be at least slightly clued in to the source material.

If only. Instead there are those who think Vader only exists in IV, V, and VI...

The Canon is much more than the numbered movies. People are pissed that Disney wiped the slate clean, but it's a good thing. Doing so creates continuity so that all the stories make sense and connect. In the end, we get a better story, and more Vader voiced by James Earl Jones. Those are both things to be happy about.

Geez I go away for a couple of days and come back to 5 or 6 pages on Vaders role in the film ! Awesome.

Personally, I just hope they make it a memorable Vader appearance that is not underwhelming and not too over the top.

Can't ask for much more than that.

I don't think they're calling Rogue One episode III.

Imagine if it was the new III. To be followed by a new II and new I.

And the original PT is consigned to that deep, dark, dusty vault labelled 'Lucasian Aberrations'. A bit like the warehouse at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark, but with an extra padlock on the door.

Vader won't kill Erso. I think she's more likely to transmit the plans and them cut and run. You want to piss off SJW around the world? Kill off the main female character. Disney has too much invested in having female protagonists to axe her; it's the same reason Rey will remain on the light side. They're investing a bunch into making female characters girls look up to, it would be a mistake to go back on that.

Is he seriously wearing a michael jackson glove?

Nothing says kid loving fun like something michael jackson related. Way to go Disney.

The third part of an overly long dream sequence.

That fever dream I had a few years back? That was a nasty one. Funny thing is, it seems everyone else had a similar thing. There must be something in the water. Tell you what, a few of the crazies enjoyed it.

Yes. All of them. They're ruining mainstream film.

Equality between genders would suggest that the ladies can be killed as much as the guys. So it's open season as far as I'm concerned. :lol

Technically you'd have to include Ep. III.

Many people on here don't consider the PT part of SW, even though they're very much a part of SW lore and not going to be redone any time soon, if at all. Episode III for me personally is actually one of my favorite SW films.

SW for them starts at Episode IV. Or potentially R1 I suppose, depending on how good they decide it is for them or not.

The major events of the PT happened, but a lot of the detail was either invented or misremembered just as Obi-Wan couldn't remember Artoo. :wink1:

(Ergo, Jar Jar never existed. :yess: )

While I still consider all of them to be part of the SW lore, the only PT film I can eagerly watch is RotS. To me, the only good thing about TPM and AotC was Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan.

The PT to me was intended to serve as a mere backstory to Darth Vader and the events leading up to his transformation, so let's just get to the point (aka RotS).

To me, all one needs to watch is RotS and you'll basically get the idea. Anakin is a highly esteemed Jedi Knight, married, falls to the Dark Side, Luke and Leia are born, then the rest is history.
