I highly doubt this is a new sculpt. HT is going to try and pump this out as quick as possible. However, they're going to try and make it sound as "new" as possible.

It just doesn't bode well for the ESB version. I was really hoping for at least a new helmet sculpt for that, but likely it'll just be a new repaint with different chestbox.

Same goes for Fett - they'll probably just repaint the ROTJ helmet (which like the Vader helmet is also not a nailed sculpt) for the ESB version.

There's no way hot toys will miss such a detail as a missing widows peak for an ESB version when they've even gotten the detail of the Y crease in the ridge of the widows peak of the ANH and rogue one versions. If they did, they are missing the point of their own character versions. -- at least they better not make that huge a mistake reusing widows peak domes for non widows peak versions...that's Star Wars sacrilege.

It's also a weird assumption that he looks like this for most of RO, then is in some kind of battle at the end and gets dirtied up (making his armor look like his grimy/weathered ANH self) - but then never throughout all of ANH "changes his clothes" to go back to how he was before that battle. If your armor looks shiny/new like this figure normally, why would you then spend the weeks of time throughout ANH looking like a blowtorch has scorched your armor?

Ben should have just stayed at home - he rescues a kid in the desert and two days later - boom. A ghost of his former self.

Leia gets pulled over and two days later - boom. Her home planet is wiped out, she's been held, tortured and then rescued from the Death Star, has the Rebel base nearly destroyed but achieves ultimate victory over the Empire.

Luke is whining about power converters and pining for adventure and two days later - boom. He's found out he's the son of a famous Jedi Knight and personally blows up the Death Star while channeling the Force.

The technical term is actually "playing dress up".

We did it when we started school, but we were all so poor back then that we had to pretend we were wearing something different.

The lucky ones who owned coats with hoods could put the hood over their head and run around pretending to be superheroes.

Seems Vader likes playing dress up as well. Sometimes he likes to put his inner robes under his armour, sometimes over.

And some mornings he wakes in the mood to shine his helmet.

Godzilla (gorira + kujira) gorilla and whale
Tamagotchi (tamago + watch) egg and watch
Pekomon (pocket and monster)

Cosplay (costume and play) not just dressing up, but playing the role of that character...it also refers to the social aspect of the activity outside of just being in a disguise like Halloween
Otaku (o (object identifier) taku (home) one who stays home all day

That's said, Vader's codpiece looks like it was cooked up by a cosplayer out of a deflated vinyl toilet seat cover....

Look at how they have been handling the basic Stormtroopers. They have been surprisingly faithful to the differences in the costumes between the AHN Stormtrooper, the Sandtrooper and the new RS Stormtrooper. They could have easily reused the same molds for all of those, but they didn't.

I have faith that the ESB Vader and Fett will be treated with similar attention to detail.

They'll definitely make a new helmet..but i hope they don't reuse the mask with just a tweaked/larger vent. I'd like to see them give us something a little more accurate..eyes,neck etc and get rid of the stupid nose plug

I do think they'll make a new helmet for an ESB Vader, I think they'll realize they have to in order to make the necessary adjustments for it. Even though the R1 Vader looks nice, I think they'll be more in a rush to pump that one out asap and will just recycle as many parts as they can, but will probably take their time a bit more on an ESB one.
