I was on the fence about this one but ordered it anyhow. Very pricey for a non diecast figure. I'll likely move it.

I'm almost definitely selling mine as soon as I get it . I would have canceled but I'm not giving sideshow my NRD . They also said I used up all my NRD transfers to other figures . I don't know what the big deal is with them . It's not like I want my money back . I'm getting something else . The guy at SSC said he can't do it anymore . Bull **** . I'm using BBTS for now on .

It's not about the $20-$30 for Sideshow, it's about being stuck with stock that they purchased from Hot Toys with the understanding that someone was going to buy. Look at all the Jor-Els and Banners that they are still trying to get rid of because people pre-ordered and then canceled. That is money that Sideshow is out. They can't continue to operate like that.

Their current NRD policy is 100% understandable and justified.

I completely agree. And I wouldn't be surprised if BBTS went the same route sooner or later as all the people who order to not miss out then change their minds leave them with extra stock instead of SSC.
Not putting anybody down, I have done it too, but I see how it makes business sense for them. It also makes me think twice before ordering too.

Yep. But people act like ssc is doing them wrong. I would love to have them once, just once, have a figure like this that sells out crazy fast and they go through and cancel everyone's order and raise the price 30% percent. And say hey, things changed we (insert cliche reason people give why they ordered an item, a promise to buy it if sideshow will buy it up front and hold it for them, and then the reason they cancel) and now we are not honoring our word and if you want it you now have to pay more. I bet the same people bitching about an NRD would be up in arms. But it's the same thing. You agree to buy it, you know up front that the item is a prototype, that any number of things can happen in the extended time before it ships, and you know the reputation of the company. Nothing's hidden. If you don't KNOW for SURE you will buy it, then don't. That's what a PO. It's a purchase with differed payment. It gets pretty old seeing two dozen people in every post cancel and then another dozen complain about the NRD. If 10% cancel on a 300 dollar figure that's a 500-1000 dollar loss if they just manage to sell them at the discounted coupon type deals. (Nearly every figure gets at least a 20 dollar discount..that's 20 bucks they lose every time) and some get sold at 40% off.

So feel free to go to other retailers. But if people continue to place orders and cancel them everyone will have the NRD. It's one thing on a 25-100 dollar figure. That's a lot easier to swallow as a retailer. But when the figure is 200-825...four figure loss on inventory becuase peoe order without every really thinking about it..not acceptable. And every store will end up with the NRD. If they didn't need it they would use it.

Same thing, they are still stuck with extra stock for a figure you wanted. If they they let someone switch as many times as they wanted then you could PO, pay your NRD then move it over and over and over and over and over...............and never actually buy anything. I don't blame SSC at all, we abused the system and they had to make changes.

The reason they're stuck with Jor-El or Banner is b/c nobody pre ordered them to begin with. :lol

%30-50 off and still nobody wants to buy them.

JUST once I would love to see SSC send out the following email:

We are sorry but the demand for this figure was greater then expected.

Therefore, we have cancelled you order and refunded your NDR.

However, you can reorder the figure at the new higher price.

Thank you.

hahaha. yeah when people gets it as easy as clicking a mouse button.
things are different in Asia.

where exclusive are only available for certain market. for example from where i'm from.
EX are not available through the official distro. so in resort to grey importer,
EX is around $70-$90 higher than the normal version. (should be higher but our currency has drop quite a bit this year)
as for some other releases, for instance this particular stealth mode, is only available buy lucky draw(to get the chance to purchase it)
as for others like peacemaker, phyton, hot rod, the price is normally as equivalent as iron monger/iron whiplash price range since we have to resort to grey importer/resellers.

To be clear I have zero issue with the NRD and agree with it completely.

I just thought I wanted this and have reconsidered.

They could be a bit more flexible I suppose. If the item is sold out / wait listed that implies enough demand their not going to lose cash. Perhaps let folks transfer ( regardless 1st time) to another item. Should that item not sell out or waitlist they'll get their money that way should you cancel or keep the order. But it's their business.....while I have an idea why they do it with all these options getting "big" discounts stuff isn't selling. Still sucks as a consumer. I don't order thru them unless a must have exclusive. I wait for price to drop on the their site, this board or eBay. So much availability pre order seems pointless anymore

I'm beginning to think you may be right. So many figures recently have gotten huge discounts and it hurts when you only paid in full a few weeks before. I might find it easier to hold off on non exclusives after AOU

it took me less then 3 figures to figure out that it's best to wait unless it's an exclusive

I have not preorder a regular figure since I had to cancel me HB and Starboost to take advantage of the discounts and double rewards.

Fortunately they didn't have NDRs.
