Re: Any chance of Hot Toys doing a Wolverine movie line?

Did someone drop some change or something? What the hell are they all looking at?

Re: Any chance of Hot Toys doing a Wolverine movie line?

After all the great stuff HT came out with from TDK, I might consider Wolverine.

Re: Any chance of Hot Toys doing a Wolverine movie line?

Was gonna start a thread (search is my friend), so Im posting here

Skimming whats been written:

General synopsis is HT on Wolverine = Unlikely ?
General synopsis is Medi will pick it up ?

Id be happier with HT then I could justify the $

Only upside with medi is my lonely X-men Wolvy wouldnt look as lonely

downside is sized next to HT and SSC they look a tad small plus they are way way overpriced as Ive mentioned

Re: Any chance of Hot Toys doing a Wolverine movie line?

Well there are two factors at work here.

HT has the Marvel Studios license or at minimum the Iron Man license because they didn't do anything for The Incredible Hulk. So we don't know if they have Marvel Films which is the offshoot that deals with Columbia, 20th Century Fox, etc. Some say HT has a master license which covers all like Koto and some are saying no and the fact nothing even the main character from the Punisher: War Journal movie came isn't a great sign. So HT might not have access.

MediCom on the other hand hasn't solicited anything in about a year if not longer so the general thought is that their license has expired.

So... in reality we may not get any high end 1/6 figures from the Wolverine film.

Re: Any chance of Hot Toys doing a Wolverine movie line?

Pity about this, I'd certainly buy a Wolverine from HT. I've been hoping HT would pick up more superhero licenses so I could get other superhero figures in the same scale and as well done as their TDK and Superman Returns figures.

Wolverine, Spiderman (movie version) and Hulk would have been high on my list.

Re: Any chance of Hot Toys doing a Wolverine movie line?

I hope Hot Toys does one, they could put him on the Muscle body with interchangeable hands.

Re: Any chance of Hot Toys doing a Wolverine movie line?

I'd like HT to do it. But i'll take a medicom figure if need be i loved their X3 version, and Medi's marvel line is priced right.

Re: Any chance of Hot Toys doing a Wolverine movie line?

I hope they do one. I mean c'mon, they did a Spirit figure :lol Wolverine shouldn't be that far out of a possibility :D

Re: Any chance of Hot Toys doing a Wolverine movie line?

I need a little mini Hugh badly... :naughty:lol

Re: Any chance of Hot Toys doing a Wolverine movie line?

Isn't Deadpool wearing just a shirt and pants? I don't think anybody is going to be wearing a costume.

I am 75% that I read somewhere (I want to say Wizard) that Deadpool ends up getting scarred and getting into a masked outfit.

Re: Any chance of Hot Toys doing a Wolverine movie line?

Well we know if the figure is accurate that his face gets severely scarred and he has blades coming out of his forearms like Barakka.

Re: Any chance of Hot Toys doing a Wolverine movie line?

I'd prefer Hot Toys do the figure, because they would give him the muscle body. With Medicom their would be joints exposed like on their anime figures.

Re: Any chance of Hot Toys doing a Wolverine movie line?

Would love HT's to do at least Wolverine from this movie, like a-dev said it would be nice to expand the superhero palate so to say. :D

Re: Any chance of Hot Toys doing a Wolverine movie line?

What's the chances of getting a brown suit version also from HT?

Re: Any chance of Hot Toys doing a Wolverine movie line?

Unless I'm misinterpreting this Q&A from Hot Toys, it sounds like we're getting something besides the Iron Man stuff from them this year:

******************

2) Can fans expect to see Hot Toys working more with Marvel Studios to bring future Marvel comic book movie figures to collectors? With Iron Man 2, Avengers and Captain America movies already planned; can we expect to see more Marvel 1:6 scale figures?

HT: It seems like we have the same expectation as our fans . We hope to bring these well-known figures to collectors and our fans too; we wish we don’t disappoint you all, let’s see any positive announcement in 2009.

*******************

Since Wolverine is the only Marvel movie this year, I don't know what else it could be. Unless they've been taking this time to perfect a movie Hulk that they'll drop on us soon.

Depends. Many collectors expect that with MediCom not putting out anything Marvel released in a while that it equals them losing the license and that its up for grabs, in terms of comic relateds, so if that were the case HT would definitely be in a prime spot to nab them.

See I'm reading that differently, the "we hope" and "let's see" indicates to me that nothing is a done deal yet, that they are hoping to not disappoint fans by not producing figures from those licenses. Remember Iron Man 2 is set for April 30th and Thor for June 4th so it may be that they need to secure the license and make the announcements this year. A figure essentially is preordered anywhere from 3 to 6 months before arriving so you could see Pre-Orders in July, August for Iron Man 2. Of course it could also mean Wolverine or even going back to the Hulk.

We can't read too much into it because its a very safe PC answer.

Yeah, it is a bit vauge and something may not be worded right or lost in translation.

I need to get accustomed to Hot Toys. I'm so used to companies showing their hand and letting us know coming product for the year.

Re: Any chance of Hot Toys doing a Wolverine movie line?

I think there is a very good chance that HT will at least make Wolverine. I would definately get a Wolverine. But that would be it.

Re: Any chance of Hot Toys doing a Wolverine movie line?

People said the same thing about Punisher. The buzz around Punisher: War Journal was huge even though the film didn't produce. A Punisher would have been in the works long before the film would have been released that we would have at least gotten the main character. Look at Medicom's Speed Racer and Racer X......that is what has me worried. With a huge character like Wolvie I would have assumed it would have been long previewed by now. This isn't like Watchmen or TDK where DC Direct is keeping the announcements at bay because they have product on the market.
