"OK, so now you all know that the announcement yesterday was in fact this year's April Fools Day joke, but did it make your heart skip a beat? The fact is, to this point, beyond two really cool maquettes (from Sideshow Collectibles) and a pair of Wolvie Claw prop replicas (from Museum Replicas) the X-Men movie franchise is lacking great collectibles.

If Hot Toys were to secure the license, would you be into this line? How committed would you be to it? Would you just get Wolverine and maybe Storm, or would you go all in and get them all?"

Technically once its officially announced you'll see multiple threads not to mention a full specs release from Wookster about it so....it really isn't news at this point just more speculation like the entire "Is there a chance HT would make a Wolverine figure?" The fun part is that HT is just screwing with us at this point, something may come out of it, something may not. This is nothing really newsworthy of its own thread.

I would say since HT loves to go in twos for wave one, we'd probably get a Wolverine and Sabretooth but if the movie does well and the figures do well, we'd probably have an option for a Wade Wilson, Gambit and maybe a couple of others.

That's a sensible compromise, thanks! Should happen more often, as the main problem with posting actual news in something like the original speculation thread is it's pretty impossible to pull out of the "wouldn't it be nice" bits.

Well here is the thing. People have been wondering if HT got a Marvel Studios or a Marvel Films license. The difference being that Marvel Studios is only films like Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, The Avengers, Captain America (films like Marvel is self financing, producing and distributing). Marvel Films means all characters that are film entities, which would include Wolverine: Origins but would also span one would think backdating to the X-Men films, Spider-Man films, Blade, Fantastic Four, Daredevil, etc. Koto has one of these licenses were they can go back and forth between projects. Securing this license in actuality means we could get a tons of other figures that were Marvel films or at minimum means that figures from films like Spider-Man 4 and other upcomings have a great chance of being done.

Well then I hope it's a Marvel Films license because to be honest, the only character designs I like from XMO:Wolverine is Gambit and Wolverine himself.
I'd MUCH rather have an accurate looking Tyler Mane Sabertooth then the dorky looking Liev Schreiber with vampire fangs and werewolf nails.

Gambit could easily be turned into a more accurate comic representation, maybe the same could be said for Emma Frost but I haven't seen enough of her to be sure.

I had thought that the magic marker was to mark where the CG scars would go when the film was finished, but I guess that is supposed to be there because its in the commercial. Looks half-assed.
